But perhaps, could it be possible, that they might walk the very same streets we do? Though, in todays world, ignorance has silenced these dark thoughts. In this world, all of this is true, these demons, known as 'Vampires' do haunt the world. Mostly in silence, never revealing their true nature to humans, some are loners, that prefer to be by themselves, others more social that prefer the spotlight, and being with others of their origin. Though recently, there has been talk of a small group of hunters, that have learned the truth, and seen past the web of lies, and cloud of ignorance. These people call themselves one thing, 'Hunters' their sole goal in life, from birth and childhood, till age and death, is to kill the unnatural un-dead beasts.
Rules, I hate them as much as you, but ya gotta have them.

(Very) short term, it's why R.M.'s still alive. blaugh Weapons: Darwin Fish, Spork Personality: R.M. is, to put it lightly, nuts. The area R.M. lives in disregards hir as someone in the lines of the people ranting about how the end of the world is nigh, making obtaining hir meals easier. Generally, though, R.M. is distracted by something shiny or colorful and isn't too interested in the world around her beyond keeping her cluttered house from falling into disrepair. Other: It is debated as to whether or not R.M. has eyes. If hir hat doesn't cover them, hir excessively shiny glasses are obscuring them. ninja Outside of that, R.M. only wears red and white. RiverOFIreland Hunter or Vampire: Vampire Name: Jean Age: physical age is 19 actual age is 2000 Sex: Female Abilities: Has a spell that was cast on her back 800 years ago that bound a pair of wings to her shoulder blades. Her wingspan is 9 feet, the coloration is white with black and dark blue tips. She had a wizard cast a spell on the wings so that they shrink and bind to her skin so that they look like an ilaberate tattoo. Jean can peel the spell off and have her wings fully unfurled in 12 seconds, but replacing her wings into the spell takes about 2 minutes. Weapons: Two Daggers with saphire gems in the hilt. Personality: Jean is bouncy, energetic, and unintentionally mischiviously curious. She gets into difficult situations because of her curiousity and because she is impulsive. Agito Hates all other forms of life, and tries to kill every one he can. Agito and Akito were brothers in their previous life, but Black magic caused their souls to bind into one body, with the two being able to change when one's emotions cause the other to react.

Name: Tobias Avery
Age: 21
Sex: Male
Abilities: Brilliant deductive mind, and quite good with projectile weapons. Very dexterous, good at dodging and running away. (XD)
Weapons: Guns.
Personality: While determined, he lacks the confidence most hunters have. Sort of self-hating, he kills vampires to make himself feel like he's doing something that will benifit others. Outwardly, he's unusually perky and light-hearted, and tends to make casual conversation when he's fighting a vampire. While he does, yes, kill vampires, he also tends to treat them like normal people, and has a weakness for vampires who don't hunt humans.
Other: Has an older sister, a lawyer, who knows of vampires and Tobias's way of life, and does not approve. She thinks Tobias should give up hunting and go to collage like "a normal person." Their parents died in a plane crash when Tobias was 13, his sister (who is five years older than him) took care of him until he was able to care for himself.
Appearance: About 5'11", with short, blaringly orange hair and gray eyes. Pale skinned and thin, with a bit of a baby face making him look younger than he is. He typically wears casual clothes, blue jeans and tennis shoes and t-shirts, but while hunting he wears a brown knee-length corduroy coat he can hold his weapons in.

Name: Melina

Sex: Female
Abilities: Can run really fast and jump very high, healing
Weapons: Twin daggers and throwing knives, flute
Personality: She has sometimes short temper but mostly she is nice. She won't hesitate to help people even if she is a hunter. Also abit quiet person but is not shy.
Other: She uses her flute when she has to heal someone.

As the sun sets over emptying California freeways, and bustling city life, a second set of life or unlife wakes around the world. Some are cold and heartless, many have become more accepting and calm with endless years. But they all have some amount of mystery attached to them. Being an ancient race, older than the Mayan indians, Greek philosophers,and some say mankind, they've changed over time like anyone else.
Somewhere near the quieting California roads, Kyra woke as she fell out of bed startled by a coat in her closet hanging a bit too close to her as she opened her eyes. Calming herself and steeling her nerves for another endless and heartless night she made her bed and walked out of her closet into her room proper, where her old bed sat rumpled and unused for the past month or so.
"Evil coats",she whispered to herself as she prepared to sneak out again. She donned her work clothes, with no intention of going to work tonight, but simply letting her parents feel that she was just a normal person working graveyard shifts and not a vampire.
Her real plan was to head over to her best friends house, where she could spend the night chatting and pretending she was normal until sunrise.
With one final glance at the mirror she brushed her brilliant dark hair out of her eyes, grabbed her backpack with "normal" clothes and slipped out into the night.

So, as the sun set, a vampire looked out of a smashed window. He looks at the fading. Saying "How romantic..... And how pathetic." He moved away, grabbing his trenchcoat. and as he walked out the door, his story started.
He walked out of the abandoned house, with his trenchcoat on, seemingly an everyday Goth, not to cause suspicion. But he knew they were going to be there. Hopefully, they will be Vampires not Hunters. But only time would tell. First, he needed to catch up to some other Vampires.

A girl, or what looked like an average girl, yawned as she looked over at the setting sun. She shifted herself and hung an arm aroung one of the stone gargoyals that hung on the old building downtown. "So," she looked over at the motionless figure, "I think I've been up too long."
Jean shrugged and allowed the spell that bound her wings to slip into it's hybernation mode so that her wings could fall free. She streached them and smiled at the setting sun. She patted the gargoyal on the back, "Nights comming up, buddy." she looked down to the street that was hundreds of feet below her, "I think all my other buddies will be waking up soon." She checked her watch, "Six o'clock, eh? I woke up early." She yawned again, "Waking up at noon is so weird." She streached her wings wide and grinned, "Good thing that the sun isn't something that I have to worry about anymore." With that she bid her stony friend goodbye and vaulted off of the building into air.

Adelle and Eric walked from their house, their eyes attracting attention, most believe they are what humans call 'contact lenses' those who know them, know different, dressed to kill, they headed out to their favourite place, not knowing what was ahead

R.M. woke up slowly, trying to reorient hirself and try to block out hir lightheadedness. "Bloody hell... What time is it?" S/he got out of the chair s/he had fallen asleep in, and staggered to the clock, groping for hir glasses. "Six... So I overslept." S/he shook hir head, putting on the glasses as s/he straightened out hir appearance, and left hir house, nearly doubled over in pain from hunger.
(( Getting the pronouns right is such a pain... sweatdrop ))

Kaiten kept on walking the empty streets. Looking in houses, hoping other Vampires would notice him. "Everything's empty, no Vampires. And gladly, no Hunters." He stopped, looked around, and continued walking. "I need to find some Vampires soon!"

As Kyra walked down the darkening streets headed for the heart of the city she thought, 'How I miss having a bus that runs out here, I wish california were more like New York', then she murmered to herself (as she was fond of doing nowadays) "I wouldn't have to deal with it if I was my old self. I could just go about in the day like everyone else"
Soon enough she was thinking of her destination, her friend Josh's house was a flat in the middle of one of California's busiest, most diverse, and oldest cities. She even began to imagaine the stairway to the old brick building that Josh lived in. Tired of walking all alone at night she said aloud "I wish I could just be there already". As Kyra turned a corner the wind caught in her gleaming long hair, and a strange sensation passed over her slithering over her skin and making her grow cold. Snapping out of her thoughts she looked up and swore she was going crazy.
In front of her was a building that should have taken at least 20 more minutes to walk to, on a street that was 20 minutes away, but they were both right there. Confused and almost afraid Kyra peered nervously behind. She recognized the street she'd been walking on. Running her eyes up the sidewalk and turning back around, she found that the whole scene blurred at the edges as if she was peering through a foggy window.
Suddenly deciding it was un-Kyra like to be so unsure and so scared she took a deep breath and thought 'Why not?' taking a few steps the scene in front of her sharpened and when she peered behind the street now matched what was in front of her. She was now looking up at Josh's flat, spooked, a bit lost, but honestly thrilled.
So thrilled that she nearly forgot to step onto the sidewalk away from the city's night traffic.
