Valoray, Ray for short Name origin: Old French, Latin Meaning: valor, strong Age at growth: 14 Personality: Quiet, independent, a bit nervous and overly polite. He can be rather oblivious at times, attentive and sensitive at others. Loves: Trees & the outdoors, sketching. Valoray's cert can be found here.Talents/Skills: Listening.
Major interest: Gardens, gardening, and painting. Also fairytales.

Name: Valoray, meaning 'valor', goes by 'Ray' for short.
Age: 3-4, though he could be older, he's very bright, but perhaps petite for his age.
Eyes: Icey blue, a bit lighter than his mother's perriwinkle blue.
Hair: Brown, leaning towards auburn, with a green streak over the left temple
Other Details: He has a strange, perhaps Native American tattoo/marking around his left ankle.
He also has rather well pronounced elvin ears. Most the simulacrum children have points to their ears, but on most of them, it's subtle point.
Build: Ray is a small boy, some what fineboned, and becomes a bit leaner and taller with each passing day. He's quick, and quiet in much of his movements and play.
Skintone: Light, with a pink flush, though he has picked up a slight tan.
Personality
Ray is bright, and independent. He loves his pet Bloo and the garden. He spends most his time either paiting or playing in the garden while emme is working in the studio.
Ray is also mute. He's picked up some sign language, and is determined to learn to write. He is driven by his need to communicate.

My sweet little one as he appeared on my bed one morning! Crawling about, and burrowing under the covers.

Emme, Ray's Guardian  Emme's Full Profileshort profile: Emme grew up in the forests alone... for all anyone knows. She's very reserved about her past and doesn't share much. She has a very strong link to horses and animals of the forest, and seems quite at home among the trees. She does have a temper, though, which is why she avoids people and keeps to herself. She hates it when her anger surfaces, but when it does, watch out... you're likely regret being on the recieving end. She's very thoughtful and withdrawn, loves philosphy and art. Her main source of income as a Gaian is as a portrait artist. She has a small studio, but has become disenchanted with her work and is looking for another creative outlet. She finds such an outlet when Neith-Kia tells her about a fantastic old shoppe on the outskirts of town.. Emme & Valoray have no known family within the boundries of Gaia. He's skilled in teaching hunting, scouting and hand to hand combat, and spends most his time traveling. Torrin is wonderfully patient, kind and thoughtful. He'd be your perfect man if he wasn't so prone to wandering. Ray and Torrin spent a good amount of time together while visiting Emme's family and friends in Dragons Breath. Torrin taught Ray a lot about scouting and hunting. Ray is somewhat influenced by Torrin in personality and physical traits. Raven, Emme's good friend.  Raven EbonyRaven and Emme grew up together in some ways. It's been years since they had their adventures together, but they are still struggling with their relationship. Raven is empathic, but he's also impulsive and headstrong. So dispite his ability to sense emotions, he can have a hard time connecting or communicating with people. But because if his empathy, he will fight passionately for those he cares about. Ray and Raven played alot together while they were visiting Dragons Breath, but they never really became close. Ray's empathy and some emotional traits are influenced by Raven.

  AuroraRay had lots of fun playing with Aurora in the shop before he left on vaction. He looks up to her. He hasn't seen her since he's come back from his trip. KamiRay really likes Kami. He thinks she's very sweet, and enjoys her gentile nature. RaiRay and Rai got along pretty well, both being rather quiet, though their interaction was limited.

  Valoray's Kitten, BlooI couldn't help myself. I had to name the little rascal Bloo, after the main character on 'Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends'. He's a bit scrawny for his age, but he has more than enough personality to make up for it. He's constantly attacking my legs, chasing all the birds from the garden, harrassing the fish in my Koi pond (though he leaves Ray's fish alone...) and stealing various items around the house and hiding them under the couch or Ray's bed. The other day, he knocked my keys of the table and played with them... I spent the entire morning searching the kitchen, before finding them under the couch... along with a pot holder and a pair of Ray's socks. I'm beginning to wonder if we adopted a cat, or a pack rat. A Puppy from Kia and Rora A box sits calmly on the doorstep with the sound of something wriggling around inside as the only hint that the air holes are there for a reason. Inside, a pup is curled up dozing and relaxed, and a note on the outside of the box says, 'From Kia and Rora.'  His name is 'Silly'... becuase... well, Ray insisted. He kept signing "silly" when the puppy would lick him and play. Silly kept Ray company during the trip to Dragons Breath, and the played together a great deal. Ray gave Silly to Torrin before we left, though. He said Silly liked Dragons Breath, but we would have to visit soon.

  Valoray's Serenity LanternThis lovely lantern hangs over Ray's bed, emitting a subdued, warm light to watch over him while he sleeps. After the strange vision Emme had, she had been nervous about leaving him to sleep in his room by himself. But the comforting light of this lantern helped to sooth her motherly anxieties.  Valoray's Bamboo FountainUnlike many children, Valoray doesn't seem to be interested in toys. He prefers spending his time in the garden, or painting with his mother. But since the weather doesn't always allow for outside play, Emme got him this small indoor fountain, complete with irridecent fish. He feeds the fish dutifuly each day, and spends a great deal of time watching them swim about. The sound of the fountains often puts him to sleep, and Emme will come in to find him curled up next to the fountain, or with his head resting on the rock.  Ray's new bear, which was a gift from Selket Admor that was left on our studio door. The Note Hello emme and Valoray, While shopping in Dre'um, I found a few of these adorable bears. I picked one up for you, 'Ray, I hope you like it. I hope we can meet soon, as well. Until we meet, Sel'  A lovely Lanternfrom Aurora & Neith Ray hung this lantern over his fountain. given to Ray on Tue Oct 12, 2004   A pair of cute Ray dolls made by ~Sao Kasaigiven to Ray on Mon Oct 18, 2004 A Valentine's Gift From Kami Kami gave Ray this mysterious box when she came to visit and have a tea party.  A gift from NeithRay really likes this amulet. He wears it most the time now.

Emme's Business, and our Our HouseStudio DreamingThought is a small art studio located in the quiteter, more residential side of Durem. It's a small two story studio, all one large room on the first floor, except for a small office, restroom and store room. It is open and airy, with a hardwood floor. The front doors are two large french doors that open up to a small front walk way framed by two fairly mature trees over lookign the street. AS you step into the Studio, there are varioius artworks on easles, stacked in corners, and there is a massive network of cubbies on the north wall, filled with canvases and drawers for supplies. Beyond that, there is another set of large french doors that open up into the shaded, wood patio, which steps down into a fairly spacious backyard/garden with a Koi pond, rock garden and weeping willow. The upstairs of the studio is Emme & Valoray's livign quarters. There is a small kitchen which has a large window over looking the garden. It is acutually built onto the the overhang of the porch below, giving the upstairs a bit more room than the down stairs. There are two small rooms, Emme's personal room, and Valoray's room. There is also a comforatable bathroom with a large sunken in bathtub/spa and a moderate sized living room.
