Sometimes it's a matter of gifting. Some people aren't just meant to write, role-play, or come up with plots. I have to be left up to always come up with a plot. Some role-players really like me because of it, but I hate it sometimes. I don't know why, and I'm not doing this to sound like I'm bragging, but I want to give a lesson that might help some of you. Even when my partner gets stuck, I give them options. I only do that cause I want the RP to continue.

Writers block can be based on your emotions. Role-playing is an escape for me, so sometimes if you're sad, angry, or depressed, it's not always the best time to write a post. You won't always put forth your best. I actually read it somewhere that depression can be a major cause of writers block.

I usually have an image almost always as to where I want the role-play to lead. I'm good at the question... "what would you do in your shoes?"

I was reading a website that gave keys to write a story. This writer mentioned that you should play the 'what if' game. It's popular as a text game on message boards. Why not with your partner?

How is it I don't get on writers block? Simple really. I just pick a place and see the options of what can happen. If you say 'I don't know' all the time and think negatively about planning, it won't help you push past writers block.

There should always be conflict. Conflict doesn't mean an argument, but it should either be man vrs man or man vrs self. Some RPs I've done that have had no conflict did fine, while others seriously need it, but people seem to not be all that good at creating conflict. What are some conflicts you usually have? What about your friends?
