"Umbrella"

Sasuke Uchiha was Hinata's umbrella. He always sheltered her from the rain, keeping away the harsh cold of falling water. Her umbrella could withstand a lot, never giving in to strong winds or painful hails. No matter what, he always protected her; So long as she always kept a firm hold on him.

If you let go of your umbrella in the middle of the storm, it would fly away from you, either to end up destroyed or, perhaps, taken in by someone else who needed or wanted it's protection.

But Hinata wanted to keep her protection during storms and light rains, she wanted to maintain that protection and feeling of safety she was given by her umbrella. Hinata didn't want to get wet, or possibly even sick.

So Hinata always kept a firm hold on Sasuke, never letting him go, because she didn't want him to become someone else's. No matter how harsh the storms were, she never let go or gave in to the wind. She couldn't lose her umbrella!

But one day Hinata loosened her hold on her umbrella. Just for a moment, when the sun had suddenly risen into the sky. Just for the shortest moment, when Hinata no longer needed her umbrella. And that was the moment that the wind decided to take her protection away. In the single moment of Hinata's life where her umbrella was not the most important person to her in the world. The single moment when she thought she saw someone even better.

Because of that moment, though, Hinata no longer had any protection against storms. Whenever the sun left and the clouds rolled in, she was left alone, expected to fend for herself.

And the sun didn't help. Because, the sun loved the wind. Yes, the wind that stole her umbrella from her was now also stealing her sunshine.

The day that sun had finally risen in Hinata's life, was the day Hinata had lost her protection against the storm. Against the storm that was her life; Her being a ninja, her father, her cousin, her sister, her mother's death, the criticism she endured by everyone. And the only reason she ever made it through was because of her umbrella; but, the moment she thought that her life was safe, that the Sun was up to stay, was false. It was all part of the winds plan.

Hinata's life was ruined; All because she lost her umbrella.

I wrote this some time ago, so it's definitely one of my older works. And I did just edit it for this. I remember, Naruto was the Sun, Sakura was the wind I guess. (Wasn't a huge fan of Sakura back then, unlike now). Anyways, do comment, criticism is welcome (But like I said, older work, I've improved by now I think). mrgreen
