Grits are a porridge made from coarsely ground corn. They're also called hominy, sometimes, but the only hominy I've had was not ground... It was more like swelled up corn kernels... neutral Anywho, grits don't look like much, but as Kirio said, they're very good. biggrin

xd That's kinda what went through my head before I remembered that they might not be called that over in England, but I'm not sure if they have a grits equivalent in England... (Shadow or Doug may correct me as needed on this, of course. biggrin )
Actually, a lot of folks no longer know what a good bowl of oatmeal is like, either... They're so used to eating the quick-oats, which are beaten and flattened so much they turn into mush... We use rolled oats at my house, so I really have to choke down the other stuff if I'm ever unfortunate enough to have no other option... Haven't tried any of the other types, though...
