Angusho walked with an obvious limp as he patrolled around the camp in the early hours of the morning. One of his forelegs had deep bite marks in it from a fight only two days prior, and the pain seemed to be increasing each day rather than receding.
Despite protests from his mate Raza, he continued his duties regularly. He was not about to let a little pain keep him from protecting his charges.
Even so, he had to stop every few yards or so to give his leg a rest. He was out further from the others than usual today, as to keep them from worrying when they saw him constantly stopping. He knew even now that he'd probably have to stop his patrol early to keep from hurting his leg more than it already was.

Well it was inevitable, with so much neutral luck and such a cynical outlook on life, eventually even the tornado godess was bound to have a bad day.
She glared at nothing in particular as she stalked across the ground, coated all over in mud so badly even her feathers were stuck together, her mohawk, normally standing in unruly fashion, plastered to her skull. Damn thunderstorm! Needless to say she was in a foul mood, and didn't feel like flying again until she got herself cleaned off. A healthy coating of dust and dirt was one thing, but this?
Every so many yards Elly would pause to, in a very feline fashion, shake out a paw or her tail, head, or wings themselves, trying to loosen more mud before it dried and caked further in her fur. Getting it out was going to be painful if it clumped like last time. She ignored most of the smaller creatures she came by, but spotting Angusho in the distance she stopped and squinted. A lion, maybe he could point her towards a watering hole.
"Hey!" She shouted over, padding towards him now with a quick pace.

Angu turned toward the source of the sound, at first only seeing what appeared to be a brown lioness. As he lumbered toward her lazily, trying to keep his limp from showing too much, he realized that she was covered in mud. He was so surprised that he hardly noticed her wings.
"Hello there." He said gruffly, as if embarrassed to be in the company of one so dirty, "If I may ask, what has happened to your coat?" He wrinkled his nose slightly, thinking of what could have caused such an awful mess. It had been storming for the past few days; which in fact had caused him to get into a fight with a lioness when he was searching for food to give to the others, but he hadn't imagined that it could cause so much mud.

Chamchela glowered at the gruff greeting and stopped long enough to give her body one great shake, loosening at least a little bit more mud.
"I fell in a mud puddle. Duh. Isn't that obvious?" She snapped in irritation. No one could accuse the juvenile of being overly friendly... "You live around here right? Where's the nearest watering hole?"

Angu flinched slightly as a bit of mud splattered onto his coat. He brushed it off impatiently and sat down, in no rush to go anywhere. While she had shaken though, Angu noticed her wings for the first time.
"You have wings." He said simply, as if she didn't know already, "Why is that? Are you half bird or something?"
He was rather taken aback by her angry response, but kept his voice calm and casual. "Yes, why did you do that? You don't seem to enjoy being covered in mud, so I don't see why you'd want to fall into a mud puddle." He rolled his eyes, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"And no, I actually don't live here. I'm traveling home with some of my pride, and I have no idea where the watering hole is. The others are looking for it."

"What are you, nuts? Why would anyone purposely fall into anything?" She snorted, not sure if he was just being sarcastic or if he were truely serious. Elly growled as he confirmed he didn't know where to find a spot for her to clean up, and, frustrated she gave up, flopping onto her haunches to clean her fur the old fashion way. "Haven't, you ever heard, of a goddess before?" She asked, sarcastic, but a bit incredulous too, between grooming licks to her fur.

"I think that I'm perfectly sane." He said simply, "After all, you're the one who fell in a mud puddle. I'm perfectly clean." He added, as if cleanliness was a sign of ones sanity.
"But of course I have." he said with a nod, "There are several in my religion. There's mother sky, sister tree, and the death fixer, but you don't appear to be any of those." He shrugged, "So you can't possibly be a goddess, just a winged lion of sorts." He paused, wondering if she could be the offspring of one of them instead, "Perhaps you are the daughter of sister tree? You can't possibly be a TRUE goddess of course. After all, cleanliness is next to godliness, and so you are neither."

((Whoooaaah. xD;; Elly totally flipped out. Please don't mind her short temper!))
Perhaps for the first time in her young life, Chamchela felt genuine outrage and embarassment. How DARE he! The thought didn't cross her young mind that he might be saying these things purely with the intention of pushing her buttons, or that his upbringing might have simply taught him that other gods didn't exist. She was seething, and there was little to nothing that could be said or done to stop it at that point, and he could probably count himself lucky that Elly was too young to know how to curse someone yet.
"Excuse me?! Not a goddess?? What kind of backwater, uncultured hell hole do you come from?!" She hissed, baring her fangs and flaring her wings a bit. "I don't have to listen to you, you're just a stupid mortal, what do you know about gods anyway?! You don't even know the difference between jumping and falling!"
The last words were thrown out with no more calm than the first, and accompanied by a growl. Chamchela might still be just a "cub", but her temper definitely outsized her body as her forepaw claws dug small trenches in the ground.

((No problem xDDD Angu has dealt with this kind of thing before ^^ He has a bit of a temper too, though... But he can usually keep it under control *thumbs up* 8D ))
Angu let a soft growl escape his lips at the insult of his culture, but forced the rest of his rage down, determined to keep from losing his cool like he had a few nights ago. The night when he got his scars.
"My pride is the Mteo'nyungu, and we understand much more than you may think, little one." He chuckled, but could not completely keep the spite from his voice, "Well now nobody has to listen to anybody now do they? I may be a mortal, but at least I don't pretend to be something I'm not." He flashed her a cheeky smile, sitting up a bit straighter. Her anger only satisfied him more, proving his point even further.
"I know, you're the daughter of sister tree. She was extremely jealous of her brother. Looks like you got Mother sky's temper as well." He teased, almost forgetting that she had insulted his pride before. This was just too much fun for him to stay angry!

"My mother is not TREE, what kind of lame domain is that?!"
Well, now she was just flinging insults left and right, aiming to get him back with a few taunts of her own as she glared him down, mirthless.
"My mother is the goddess of Unity, she's much more important than any stupid tree!" She snarled, but continued. "And the sky god is MALE, so that shows what you know!" Another snarl, for Chamchela was not particularly fond of that god, and if her suspicion were correct, from what she'd been told, she'd have nothing but hate for that male when they finally met face to face. "You obviously don't know who you're pissing off. I'm the goddess of Tornadoes! I'd change that attitude of yours and take back that--"
What was the word Kiva used?
"--blasphemy, right now, before I hurl you off a cliff!"

"Well then, maybe there's many more steps between them and your birth, eh?" He pondered this possibility for a moment, "After many generations the power is bound to fade and split into lesser powers."
"Unity, you say? Well I've never seen her, and my traveling group has been united for longer than you've been alive. It seems that we're getting along just fine without her." He raised his eyebrows curiously, "I see, and have you ever met this sky god of yours? He's probably no more than the god of rain or clouds or the color blue."
Angu could not help but laugh, "You? Hurl me off a cliff?" He rolled on the ground with laughter, "Well go on then, whip me up a tornado and toss me off the biggest rock you can find."
