I, personally, know that there are more supercars then the Dodge Viper.

The Chevy Corvette Z06 is a cheap, but extremely quick super car.

The Saleen S7 is a 750 horsepower monster that Bugatti used for testing against their own super car.

The Mosler MT900 is a new supercar from the florida-based company that has dominated the European FIA GT racing circuits.

The SCC Ultimate Aero TT is a new supercar than plans to kill the record set by Bugatti. It makes 1183 horsepower and 961 ft lbs of torque. It has all the luxury ammenities of the Veyron but it weighs on 2800 pounds. It attemped a speed record and due to weather issues only went 222 mph. These guys will have their record.

Everyone has a right to opinion and preferance. In this day and age I know alot of americans aren't as knowlageable about motorsport and automobiles than the rest of the world, but that DOESN'T MEAN EVERYONE! I watch endurance and FIA GT racing, try to stay on top of automotive news, and love a car for more than its ability to set speed records. So watch what you judge.

Hey now! I like all those cars you just listed there (although I do love the Corvette because I'm partial to Chevy). I may not know much about them, but I know they are gorgeous cars. You just gotta remember that on this site, there are a lot of young, sheltered children...I'm not saying there aren't those who don't know about these cars, but it doesn't surprise me that many don't.

I think I only noticed one kid in this guild who was partial to the Viper.

Myself, I like Lotus, particularly the Elise.

Lotus cars are cool shaped, they look like monster cars, but the engine eint that powerfull, the speed is week.

Exige > Elise

rolleyes Sure, if you want a car that you'd never be able to drive on the street without losing all your teeth or bump-steering into a tree. The Exige is too much of a race car for me.

If you know how to control it you'd be fine... it can out maneuver an apache helicopter (provided the auto-tracking system on the apache is turned off)...

You're missing the point. The Exige is superior on the race track (Except for the lower top speed due to aerodynamic drag from all the bodywork. Downforce does have it's disadvantages)

But on the street, there are circumstances that can't be controlled. I mentioned bump steer for example. Bump steer is what happens when your shocks are compressed all the way and you hit a bump. Any road surface irregularity will do. After you hit the bump you go skidding off into the nearest tree. Sometimes you have a chance to recover, sometimes you don't.

A car like the Exige is too tightly wound for driving on public roads. I'm not saying one is better than the other, but since I prefer street driving to track driving, I prefer the Elise to the Exige. That's all.

I like the Viper, because the entire package is nearly unbeatable, not just performance but priced as well.

I'd just go for the easy option and have a Vauxhall VX220 Turbo.
