I honestly don't know if any thread like this has been made, but there isn't one like it on the first 3 pages.
I have Guitar Hero II and I do love it. I have talked to several non-guitar playing people that have played it and they have the nerve to say that it feels like they are actually playing a guitar. When my brother said that, I sat him down the next day for a little lesson. Not to my surprise, he stunk at guitar and it gave him a headache trying to learn it. He hasn't said that statement since. I do like how you feel like you can rock out and you feel good because you "played a song in front of a lot of people at a concert", but if someone has the nerve to say that it feels like playing a real guitar, than they should count all the number a notes on a guitar. THERE AREN"TS JUST 4!!!, and they should try to play some of those songs on a real guitar, than they will appreciate how easy Guitar Hero really is.
What do you think?
EDIT: Sorry, 5 buttons. But still the guitar has at least 102 notes, and way more chords.

Quick statement: There are five notes in the Guitar Hero games, not counting all the chords.
Other than that, I completely agree with that post. And I also play Guitar Hero II. I can do anything on Medium, and am about halfway through the game on Hard.

xlRainlx Well it doesn't feel like the real thing, but it did help me learn to use my pinky finger more often and it's fun as hell. mrgreen You got that right that it does still rock. I am fine with non-guitarists playing it a rocking out on it, but thinking it is like the real thing is definitely a false statement.

true and sad story
My friend(who plays and owns 2 guitars) had his cousin come over. Now his cousin is a real guitar hero geek. So anyway, while my friend was in a different room, cousin decides that hes a rock star and starts to mess with his Les Paul Custom. My friend comes in and the cousin(straight up serious) ask him " Wheres the on button on this thing?"

My friends are better than I am at guitar hero, but they can't play the real thing to save their lives. It is fun, but nothing like the real thing. It's not even the same size!!

honestly its true, its not like real guitar, it helps with speed, well when you play on expert like me, but other than that its just funn. I used GH as an excuse to get a guitar, one of the first songs i learned how to play was Muse's Knights Of Cydonia. 2 years later i have 3 guitars and van play a wide variety of music from the beatles "Blackbird" to Van Halen's Eruption. Not sayin its like guitar but i do think it helps with rythim, speed, and audio recognition, wich i feel are key to play guitar
