all done in photoshop, including sketching and planning. i had originally intended for it to be just her, done in a simple sorta artsy/graphically appealing way and sans background, but it just took off from there. i enlongated the piece itself to be able to put in her bird as well as a dark and dreary background that hints at her castle with clouds.
i've always loved disney's sleeping beauty, for the great maleficent character/villain as well as the style involved. so this is a tribute to that wonderful movie, heh.
