Rolling hills as far as the eye could see in one direction. Some lions crept across them hunting their prey, while others basked in the shade of the boulders and the ever-so-often tree. Young cubs playing, pretending to stalk and pounce on their playmates, and being unwillingly cleaned by their mothers and fathers and they tried to bit at every inch of their parents that they could reach. The unsuspecting prey grazing on the grass not too far from the basking lions in peaceful ignorance.. Mountains touching the heavens, among the pure white clouds and the echoing call of the various distant birds in another. The calls bounced off the walls of the mountains, creating an eerie atmosphere, and a slight fear in the hearts of its more weary travelers. Melting snow fell from the peaks, creating tiny springs from which to drink in the valley below. Cool air brushed along the sides of the tall mountains, threatening colder weather and more snow. Clear blue seas stretching for the end of the sky, hiding an immense number of creatures and life at its bottom. Fish underneath the surface swam for food, fun, and safety from the hungry predators that lusted for their flesh and the feel of a full stomach. Sea grass was pushed aside in a flurry of a school of fish. Dirt was knocked loose and kicked behind in their wake. Little dun after little dun. The sand went on forever and ever. An inhospitable wasteland to all who were not adapted to the harsh conditions. No creatures were seen scurrying about. No, that was saved for night when the earth turned away from the sun. But now the fiery ball made the tine granules too hot to touch; the temperatures into three digits. Shade and underground was the haven.
