I had a strange dream this morning. I was reading a book (in the dream) it was something I'd read previously, but was doing a refresher on it. Then something happened and I turned away, then started reading again. When I resumed the page half way down, then I woke up, and couldn't remember what I was doing, since I wasn't reading anything at all. Should I be worried? Is it normal to actively read in your sleep?

It isn't uncommon to read in dreams, but we don't always make sense of the words. Some theories think that reading and dreaming are in opposite areas of the brain, and don't intermingle subconsciously.
Anyway books in dreams are believed to represent knowledge,or skills. Since this was a book you have read before, maybe it is knowledge you already have that you may need to relook at and avoid being distracted from in order to complete something.

But thats the odd thing, I have no recollection of ever reading that book, I just KNOW its a book I've read before. But If you asked me what it was I couldnt tell you the name of the book. I think maybe that's one of the most infuriating parts of the dream for me. It doesnt make sense.

Has there been a skill recently that you have had a slight interest in refreshing? It could be that. Maybe not necessarily a book, but like Thyna said, some skill or knowledge that is already familiar. Do you remember what you were thinking that night before you went to sleep? Maybe that could give you some clues as to what it was that was so familiar.

It's true, I am easily distracted these days. So maybe I should really start paying it some attention, once school is back in session things will be alot quieter and I;ll have more time to think *sighs with relief*
