I was thinking of replacing my pickups for my US Fender Strat, but my friend told me that the US Pickups in them are probably the best that I could find.
Anyone know if its worth it or not?
I was thinking of putting some Seymour Duncans in my guitar.
(I play Metal)

(I play Metal) no. look for dimarzio pickups, if you're talkign single coils, and if you're looking at humbuckers, seymour duncan invaders will do you rght.

Well, to be honest we need a little more information.
First, what model strat is it (there are several models that are made in the USA)? Second, what is your guitar's pickup set-up (i.e. do you have all single coils, humbuckers, mix, etc.)? Are you going to be putting in the pick-ups or are you taking it to a shop (not all pickups just fit perfectly into strats, some modifications have to be made)?
As a side note, Seymore Duncan used to make (I don't know if they still do or not) a pickup called a Dunbucker. It was basically the size of a single coil, but it was a squished humbucker. If you are putting it in and don't have the experience to mod the body/pickguard, this could be a good alternative for you.

Okay, well this definitely isn't my field, but my dad built my guitar about 20 years back. I can't tell you much about them because my dad died when I was 3. But anyway, the pickups are all black and are P.J. Marx. I'm pretty sure that they are good, because my dad spent a lot of time and money trying to put the guitar together. I believe that the guitar was originally built from a Fender Japan kit, if that helps at all, considering that yours is a US Fender

The Seymour Duncan Hot Rails are very good pickups if you're going for metal sound, but your guitar only has room for single-coils (without modding your guitar). To put it simply, they are humbuckers the size of single-coil pickups, have high output and are basically designed for metal and other styles where high-output pickups are needed. I think the Cool Rails are similar, but lower output, with more use in blues/jazz.

What would be a smart decision?
New Amp (if so what would be good? Small shows, not too expensive) New Guitar New Pickups.
Any help appreciated.

is it just single coil or is it HSS? If its single coil, get hot rails. and if its humbucker, depends on your kind of music style. if your kind of bluesy and classic rock, seymour duncan jb-4. if your into metal, get the seymour duncan invader (which is what i have, very high output. like 17.6 klms)
