Journal Entry 1

Sayuri ran back up the cobbled street to her house, her green zobi sandals clacking on the stones as she dashed forwards. The 2-story house loomed over her as she slipped out of her footwear, slid back the door and stepped inside. The angel doll egg was clutched tightly to her chest by her arms as she dodged past her relatives and made her way upstairs before flinging herself down onto her modernised bed. Turning the egg over in her hands she looked through the transparent case at the blue doll inside and gave a small squeal of delight.
"So this is what an Angel is....they're so cool!" Sayuri whispered in awe as she gently touched it with the tip of her fingers. As she continued to stare at the egg, a small booklet caught her attention that had fallen from the box when she took the egg out. 'How to set up a doll' was printed in big bold letters on the glossy paper. "I guess I better read this before I do anything else. I definately don't want to break the angel." The paper felt smooth and fine as she turned the first pages to find out how to choose the dolls appearance etc.
"First open the doll in the bath, DO NOT OPEN IT OUTSIDE THE BATH!" Sayuri recited and tilted her head to the side like an amused child. "Well I guess I'll be having a bath tonight."

Stepping out her silk kimono and white cotten socks, she gently turned on the taps and waited patiently for the bath to fill with warm water. Finally when it was full, she climbed over the edge and sighed happily as the water touched her smooth skin and sat down, clasping the egg firmly. "Well here goes...." Sayuri bit her bottom lip as she lifted the lid of the egg and the water came gushing out before she lifted the doll from the case and smiled. "So now it's time to sort you out." After a couple minutes bathing, she climbed back out, dressed into her PJs and ran into her room, the doll raised above her head. Flicking through the manual again, she came across the part about choosing the wig and smiled, she loved dressing up. "I think long hair would be good for you!" Sayuri whispered to the doll and picked up a long, silky, dark blue wig that reached the doll's hips. To her surprise, her hands didn't shake one bit as she trimmed the bottom of the wig and styled the fringe so she had a side parting with a single silver streak going down one side. Next, she platted the silver streak and tied a red bow at the end to keep it fimrly in place.
"Okay, now onto her stats." Sayuri placed the doll in the glowing golden light/container and plugged it up to her new Angelic Layer laptop. "Erm....I think a pale skin tone and silvery/blue eyes would suit my angel....okay and for her stats she should be...." Her voice trailed off as she selected her choices and paused, thinking about the options. "Okay, I want her to be Light Weight and her to be Speed Based and Power Based, so really she is even. But that speical type does stand out....maybe I can teach her some special moves so she is speical aswell" Having selected the types now it was time to choose the angel's name. Sayuri thought long and hard about it before finally coming to a decision and began punching in the letters on the keyboard. "M-I-C-H-I-K-O....meaning beauty and wisdom." She then gently took Michiko out of the golden light and held her closely, a wide, proud smile upon Sayuri's face. She finally had her very own angel.

Journal Entry 2

Tilting her head back slightly, Sayuri shuffled in the center of a large noisy crowd entering a large store called Descending Angels and stopped in the middle of the doorway, ignoring peoples' grumbles and moans at her blocking the entrance. The reason for her stopping was that she liked the feel of the cooling air conditioner on her face and the way it made a thick, wavy strand of light brown hair dance about in the man made breeze. After cooling down and feeling much more refreshed, she continued into the shop and gasped in shock and awe at the sight that lay before her pale amber, almost green and yellow, eyes. Loads of strange platforms with two padded seats were dotted around the store by the entrance, each with a large gathering of people eager to watch whatever was happening on these platforms. Sayuri did not know what these platforms were, or even what they were called because she had not entered the store since the day she had purchased her first ange,l Michiko. Edging closer to the action, she raised herself onto her tip-toes and peered over the shoulders of the excited cheering crowd. Two angels were battling each other on the platform, dodging each other's moves and then striking back with great force before dodging again. Each of the two angels had a beauitful, elegant outfits that suited their appearance and fighting moves. Her eyes grew wider and her mouth slightly hung open as she watched the fight with bated breath, wondering who would come out champion and to see what happened next.

After the excitement and battle had blown over, Sayuri was left standing next to the platform, her eyes still wide with amazement and her hands clapsed together above her chest. She had never seen something so breath taking in all of her life and then it hit her hard like a thousand bricks. If they were angels then that meant that her and Michiko could one day be up there fighting other people and their custom angels. If that was going to be true then she would need to learn a lot more about Angelic Layer and what these platforms were.
Turning to a store clerk who was hovering behind her, she gave a him an awkward smile and cleared her throat.
"Erm excuse me sir. I recently brought an angel from here and I would like to know what these platforms are called, and where I can find some clothes for my mentioned angel."
The clerk gave her a warm smile in return which made Sayuri blush slightly and nodded. "These platforms here are called Layers and that is where you and your angel can battle other people for fun or in a competition. They are also used for training, to level up your angel's stats and teach them some special moves. The clothes can be found over there," He explained pointing to the vast number of aisles in the store. "You can find clothes, accessories and all sorts if you just look in the different aisles, who knows what you will find!"
Sayuri nodded in all the right places to show she was listening and understood before turning her back to him and flounced off to where she had been directed.

The aisle's sheleves were crammed with Angelic Layer merchandise and other bits and bobs to equip on your angel, so many that Sayuri had to stand back to see it all. She was speechless at how much stuff there actually was to buy for your angel among other things that still left her standing there in a daze. Seeing the two angels from earlier in their fancy outfits had made her think about the clothing that her angel was currently wearing and sighed. The blue and silver kercheif was all very well but she longed for something more sophisticated, and well, something that actually resembled clothing. There were so many outfits and accessories to choose from, Sayuri didn't know where to begin, let alone actually chose one of them. Nearly one hour passed of browsing through the clothing before she finally narrowed it down to 3 outfits that really stood out and caught her attention the minute she laid eyes on them. These outfits were: The Moon Set; a silvery dress with a moon image and a matching silver bwo to attack to the ahir of the angel, The Blue Unicorn Set; a blue dress with knee length boots, a cape and a winged head-piece, and finally The Blue Chinese Dress; a blue chinese styled dress with a crane pattern. Sayuri's hands hovered over the Blue Unicorn set before darting over to the Chinese dress and then to the Moon Set, her brow furrowed with a frown. She was torn between all 3 outfits, making it absolutely impossible to chose which one she would buy for Michiko.

Closing her eyes Sayuri took a deep long breath and walked away from the 3 outfits. She didn't feel that she was ready to buy clothes for Michiko yet and besides, she didn't even have enough money to buy one. A pang of sadness struck her as she left the shop and fumbled around with her purse to check how much she money she had left. There were only a few coins yet, not even enough to buy a sandwich or a drink. Walking with her head lowered, she made her way back home with her hands clutching round Michiko's frame.

Journal Entry 3

Sayuri stormed furiously into her house, swingng her arms in rage and marched up the stairs so loudly and violently that the window panes rattled as she stomped around. Zachary had really ticked her off and she was in need of taking all the anger and frustration out on someone...or something. Picking up her journal, she threw it onto her bed before diving next to it and riffled through the book until she came to a blank page to jot down the happenings on that day.
She snatched up her silver, cherry blossom fountain pen, and began to smoothly write her thoughts and feelings, the ink effortlessly touched the page and formed the words in the head:

Dear Journal,
Today I went back to 'Descending Angels' to check if they had any new clothes for Michiko in store, when I bumped into the strangest person I'd ever met. His name was Zachary Ellard and using my great detective skills, I figured out that he was buying an outfit for his own angel; which he refused to show me when I casually asked him. Imagine that, a boy owning a doll, oh how his friends would laugh if they knew about it. But this guy was such a royal pain that I had the strongest urge to lash out and slap him across his face, he made he feel so small and useless, especially when he teased me just like my brother. All of the shenanigans began when I whipped out my fan from the obi of my kimono and Michiko got latched onto the end, so when I flicked my wrist, she become dislodged and was sent hurtling towards him, OH THE HORROR! Being the pig that he is, he came to the conclusion that I had purposely thrown my angel at him in an act to kill him, or something along those lines. Why are boys so....so arrogant? Nonetheless, I soon learned how to get what I wanted from him, that is until I utterly embarrassed myself and now I don't think I can ever see eye to eye with him. I'll skip to the important details: lets just say I blurted out something about him having a very nice a**. Zachary must've thought that I had a crush on him and started winking at me just to see my reactions, God I hate him so much! He is a couple of years older so it's impossible for me to have a crush on him, I wouldn't dream of ever liking that stuck up boy.... never in a million years.

Sayuri.

Journal Entry 4

Throwing her numerous suitcases onto her silk quilted bed, Sayuri sighed heavily and retreived Michiko from the denim pocket of her brand new skinny jeans. The trip to Tenerife had left the Deus feeling refreshed and ready to tackle anything the world had to throw at her, especially another encounter with Zachary; that was something she was looking foward to very much. Her angel sat perched upon her shoulder as Sayuri riffled through her luggage to find her camera and other things what had to be unpacked before she was even allowed to leave her bedroom. The large mahogony mirror on the other side of the room caught her attention, leaving her in a trance as she examined her reflection which had changed alot on her vacation. Her pale complexion was now tanned, her eyes were quite litterally glistening and her hair was a lighter shade of brown but that wasn't the most dramatic of changes, instead of her usual kimono and hair style (tied up with hair ornaments), she was wearing a pair of designer jeans, a white tank top with a cherry across the chest area and her wavy hair was left untouched, allowing it to flow freely across her back as she moved about. Her mother had remarked on the flight home that Tenerife must be magical as Sayuri had blossomed into a beautiful young woman over the course of 2 weeks.
She couldn't help smirking at this thought as she knew herself that this was true. Her childish appearance and figure had been replaced with a more mature and developed body, even her hair and eyes seemed to be different in a strange way. One thing was for sure though, her hyper and gleeful personalitly remained the same, nothing would ever be able to take that away from her.

The last pieces of clothing were packed away, the shoes shoved into the bottom of her wardrobe, and the suitcases left outside her door, before Sayuri raced over to her stereo, flailing a CD disc above her head like a trophy. Flicking the on the button and sliding the disc into the slot, the music began to blare out loudly from the speakers as the teen danced around her bedroom to the heavy beats of the rock music. Suprisingly Michiko, the angel, didn't fall off her shoulder as she pranced around, but Sayrui was too busy in her own little world to notice this small detail, even if it was slightly weird.
"Fumikomu ze akuseru kakehiki wa nai sa sou dayo
yoru wo nukeru
nejikomu sa saigo ni sashihiki zero sa sou dayo
hibi wo kezuru!"
The words echoed throughout the house, but her mother had got used to it by now, her daughter's singing was constantly heard whenever she was happy.
As the song drew to a close, the adolescent sprang into the air with her arms outstretched, clutching Michiko in one hand with a hairbrush in the other and shouted as loud as she could; "YEAH!" Being too distracted with what she was doing, as she landed she couldn't find her balance and toppled over, crashing into the chester draws beside her and basically caused the entire contents of the drawers to spill out on top of Sayuri.
"I hope I'm better at battling then I am at dancing and keeping my balance..." She whispered to her first angel with a hearty giggle and snuggled against the doll's cheek.

Entrance Phase (Journal Entry 5)

The battling arena loomed before her as she clucthed Michiko tightly in her grasp, she was shaking so nervously that she felt she was going to be sick. Sayuri was finally going to have a go at getting her angel to move in the training area but she was dreading people staring at her, espeically if she messed up and made a fool of herself. Cautiously making her way up to the training layer, she settled herself down onto one of the padded chairs and slid the special glasses onto her head. She had watched many others throwing their angels into the layer and squealed inwardly as they sprung alive before darting off to battle eachother, that was what Sayuri wanted to see Michiko do. Raising her hand, she threw the angel into the layer and gasped in shock and embrassment as the doll merely fell to the floor and rolled slightly before grinding to a halt. A few sniggers could be heard behind her when she began to turn the colour of a tomato but she didn't give up there and concentrated on getting the angel to move. Compared to all the other angels in the room, Sayuri's looked plain and rather pitiful looking, especially since she only had a blue and silver kercheif as clothing while the others had amazing outfits. Scrunching up her eyes and pouting, she concentrated on getting the angel to move by closing off all her other senses and pictured Michiko moving gracefully on the layer. As she opened one eye to see if it had worked, she sighed heavily and crossed her arms in thought, she'd never been faced with something so difficult as getting an angel to move without touching it.

30 minutes passed and still there was no luck in getting Michiko to move, not even a flicker of life came from her angel. Scooping up her most prized possession and hastily sliding her back into the obi of her kimono, Sayuri ambled her way towards the exit of the store when a poster caught her eye. "Learn To Move Like A Pro!" It read with a beautiful angel underneath in a graceful position. "Maybe we'll give that a try...maybe..." And with that the pair left the store, many thoughts whizzing round the Dues's head as she marched her way back towards her okiya.

Returning the next day with high spirits, Sayuri was ready to get her little Michiko to move, no matter how long it took. Booking a training layer, she awkwardly strode over to her practice area, slid onto the chair once more and placed the pink glasses over he eyes.
"Beautiful and Wise, Behold Michiko!" She cheered and threw the angel into the illuminated layer where to her suprise, the angel was actually standing up and stared back at her. "I did it?...I DID IT!" Letting out a squeal of delight and joy, Sayuri punched the air triumphantly and grinned childishly. "Now lets get you moving around shall we?" She calmed herself down before taking deep breaths and pictured Michiko walking around so graceful and elegantly, just like the other angels did. The kercheif clad angel began to move shakily around the edge of the layer, she wasn't as graceful as a swan yet, but atleast she was walking and that was a big step forward. They continued to practice for a while until Sayuri had worn herself out and delicately picked Michiko up. "We'll go to those lessons on how to move like a pro, then we'll be the best there is."
