Geist presented me with ann interesting theory esspecially after the last comic. Maybe the Archmage is Richard before we was all bad and stuff.

They do look very similar...
And maybe the archmage is already bad and we don't know it.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if they at least knew eachother in the past.
I had thoughts about Richard possibly knowing the Archmage or something before the last comic.

I just came up with a theory last night.
The Archmage is Richard's dad!
Seriously, can't you see it?
"Richard, I am your father!"
"NOOOOOOOO!!!!!1111eleven!!!one!!!!"
Though, if this theory is accurate,
then he must get his good looks from his ma.

my guess was the archmage WAS richard in a previous life.

One of the things that often comes up in fantasy is that handling magic increases one's lifespan, so the archmage could be a younger Richard. And we're going to get into a horrible mess regarding the time-space continuum.

i doubt it. have you seen Inuyasha? I can't remember anything happening despite the constant time traveling of a 14 year old school girl. I'm guessing they may leave that out mostly due to it would make things too complicated to continue with.

And yay! I know it's horrible to say this, but they had small child pwnage in the comic! Well, again I mean. I didn't like it as much though. Toooo friggin' dramatic.
