I say only one thing on the subject of Inuyasha. Kill em all, and let's see how the demon dog does on his own... Well, don't be that extreme though.
Inuyasha is a better character without all the superflous hanger oners.

Without any of his friends, especially Kikyo and Kagome (he needs her too Chie), Inuyasha would never be abel to bring out his full potential. His friend are what make him stronger.
