"The beaches here are very nice,"
Kris looked briefly over to her children, just as a precausion before making herself comfortable in a nearby beach chair she'd placed down earlier. The umbrellas that covered the sitting area made for some good shade in the warm heat of the day, after all, sand is always extremely hot when the weather is good.
"Well, you girls are more than welcome to eat, and mingle and spend some time here."
Smiling up to Papina from her seat she seemed to be ushering the two onwards, it had been a long day and Kris was looking to settle down and relax, more than she could say for her boys.
"Horus, pass me that packer thing will 'ya?"
Akki's face was firm and a little disappointed, one of his walls that he'd been working on was crumbling, and quickly. Smiling a unvocal thank-you to his brother as he held out the shovel it was hard to reach it. With one hand he was attempting to hold what was left of his wall, in the other he was trying to get the shovel, making for him to have to stretch to reach, and even then it was just barely. None the less the child finally grabbed the shovel and quickly put it to use, patting in the sandy wall and every now and again dipping in to the moat's water supply to get the sand to stick better.

Alair nodded at Taye. "Hi! You look just like Horus. I don't think I can tell you apart." He began to dig a little more, sort of mumbling to himself about the moat. Glancing up at Lucy and Akki's conversation he nodded.
"Yeah, we're trying but it's gonna have to be REALLY big to keep the waves out." Alair glared at the ocean. "Umm.. I don't think I got your name, I'm Alair!" The boy turned to Lucy waiting for her name while he kept digging. Not that it seemed he did much to moat, about half the sand poured back in after he had scraped it out.

"It does seem that way," Papina noted as she followed Kris into the shade where the sand was just that slight bit cooler. "Thank you for the offer. I'm sure I can get Luna to drop her new-found 'dignity' long enough for her to play with the others." She hesitated, then went over to the lunar child, wrapped a hand around one arm, and dragged the now protesting Luna away from the table and towards the other kids. "But, but..!" "No buts. You need to meet other scroll kids. Someone younger than a teen." "But we haven't found any my age!" "So we go younger - you need to learn how to have fun anyways and toddlers are the best at that." ((*is assuming everyone else here is a toddler* ;>>)) "But-" "No buts. Now go over there and make friends... you do know how to, right?" "Uh..." Luna had to think about that for a moment, and during that moment that she paused, Papina pushed her forward among the others. "Wait! What about you?" Luna's voice edged on suspicion. "Oh, I'll be over here watching you, like I promised Mom I would." Luna doubt that was the only, or even main, reason. It was more likely Papina just didn't want to get near the water. Well... well... fine then. Luna marched up to the nearest kid, made sure there was nothing for her to ruin, and plopped down. "Hi. My name's Luna. What's yours?" she asked, her voice a mix of ruefulness, semi-forced politeness, and oddly enough, some curiosity. This would be the first scroll child she met that wasn't of teen age or older.
At least she was in a bathing suit - her normal clothes would have been ruined within moments here.
((Time to make Luna learn to how to play!!!))

Lucy's eyes lit up as she began talking excitedly to Akki. "Yeah! I did! Momma took Lucy to her first movie and she let Lucy pick which one! Then Lucy saw the p-p-poster with the draaygon on it and the castel, and Lucy told Momma she HAD to go see that movie! There was lots a fighting and blood and the castel was so purty!" Lucy at this point was talking very animatedly with the boy. She jumped a bit when she realized the other boy had been talking to her. "Oh, Hello," she was having trouble forcing the words calmly out of her mouth,"I'm Lucy." SHe looked down to what the boy was doing and suddely got an idea. She whirled around to face Akki, looking for the pail she had seen him using earlier. She ran over to it and grabbed. 'This should work for Lucy and the boys.' She ran back over to where the boys were. "Here, do this , it'll make the moat bigger and it'll make the moat stay!" She got down on her hands and knees and began to scoop the sand out for the moat. Once she had scooped the sand out she dumped it into the bucket. "This way, when you get the sand out, it won't go back in!" Lucy smiled happily to the two boys.
((The spelling mistakes are there on purpose, Lucy tends to talk in third person adn makes many speech errors when she talks fast or very excitedly =]))

Alair's eyes lit up and he threw his arms around Lucy in a hug. "Yay!" The boy bent to work on the moat again. After a little bit more he sat up again. "Oh! Hi Luna, 'm Alair." he said belatedly. Okay, sure she was talking to Lucy but that didn't mean he couldn't say hi right?
Glancing over at Taye he grinned. "Is there anything else I can do?"

Taye sat, a little skittish around the slew of people coming in. His brother Akki was having a birthday party, but why did he have to come too, afterall, he never was good with others. Smiling shyly the smaller twin looked around, handing Alair a blue shovel he pointed towards what the Lucy girl was doing for the moat.
"Y-y-you could help her...if you want."
Fiddling with his blonde hair for a moment Taye stopped playing and took a few moments to clean the sand out from under his nails, it was beginning to irritate his skin.
Akki smiled as he watched the other children joining in in helping his brothers and him build a sandcastle, this one would be the biggest they'd ever made, and the first one too. This day was turning out perfect, he was hopefully making some new friends and growing up while doing something he wanted to do. His firm gray eyes scanned the growing castle, it was beginning to look bigger than life itself. Content with their creation the boy sat back and tipped his head up, focusing on the sun and water, this day couldn't have had better weather.

Alair smiled brightly back at Taye before taking the blue shovel and helping Lucy. After a few shovelfuls he paused. The boy glanced down at himself and giggled. "I'm a sand monster on!" he pointed out to the group as his legs were covered in sand. "Rawr!"

Luna blinked and turned her head a bit to look at the one who had actually greeted her rather than ignoring her. "Hi Alair. What are you guys doing?" It had hurt to be ignored, so now she was more determined to make friends here. Or at least one.
Papina was silent as she watched Luna from what she felt was a 'safe' distance from the water's edge, her leaves twitching every once in awhile from idleness as they soaked up sunlight.

"Weeeellll...." Alair drawled out. "We're building a castle and I was working on the moat but it looks like it's done now and so I'm a sand monster! Rawr!" He began to giggle at himself. "What are *you* doing?"

"I just got here. I'm not doing anything yet," Luna pointed out. "But what you're doing sounds cool." She giggled when he 'rawr'd at her. "So, if you're done working on the moat, what's next?"
