Uzomo, the third planet located in the Nuedia System was colonized during the Second Age of colonization by the Tarsonians, however it also serves as home to the semi-sentient species known as the Karicks. The Karicks are a six-legged dog-like species with the ability to process thoughts and speak, but lack major characteristics of society. During the colonization process, several problems arose because many of the Karicks were opposed to losing their land. A peace agreement was reached and the colonization proceeded. During the Galactic Civil War, the residents of Uzomo as well as the Karicks, who were being slaughtered for their fur by Imperial slavers hired by the Empress overthrew the Empire and assisted the Alliance.

However, feeling strong loyalty to Tarsonis, the residents of Uzomo allied themselves with the Tarsonian Quadrant. A battle took place in orbit of Uzomo but ground forces never landed. A two year long blockade of the planet came to an end when Tarsonis surrendered to the Federation. After the end of the conflict, leaders of Uzomo were prosecuted for treason and Uzomo was forced into the Federation.
