Selaba looked a little worried now. She glanced at her fish suspiciously and decide to wait for it to cool off a bit more before she resumed eating. Then she watched Axel while her fish cooled, to make sure that his mouth didn't catch on fire.

Axel chuckled a bit at Seleba's worried look. "Come on. It will take more than a warm fish to start a fire. You'll be fine as long as you take your time. Trust me."

Selaba looked from him to her fish for a moment before deciding to try another bite. The fish had cooled a bit more, so she was able to eat it comfortably.
When she had eaten as much as she could, which was most of the fish, she stretched as sighed happily. Only then did she notice that her mouth felt raw and stung a bit, the effect of being burnt. She hoped that didn't mean her mouth would catch on fire, and decided to get a drink from the stream, just to be sure. She walked over to the cool water and drank deeply, which eased the uncomfortable new senation in her mouth somewhat. It didn't go away entirely, though, and her discomfort showed on her face when she walked back to Axel and sat down beside him.

Axel yawned a bit as he finished his fish and waited for Seleba to come back. Seeing the discomfort on her face he could only guess. "Too full or mouth burn?" He knew which one it was, but he thought it would be good to guess something else too instead. Yawning again. He kicked some dirt in to the fire to kill it.

She listened to the question and thought for a moment before replying, "I guess my mouth's burned." That made sense, though she hadn't expected it. If she ever had cooked food again, she'd make sure it cooled more before eating.
She sat down beside Axel as he put out the fire. His yawn seemed to be infectious, and she yawned in response. She was feeling a bit drowsy now; eating a lot tended to do that. "Mmm, this seems like a good time for a nap," she said lazily.

CHAPTER 2?
Axel laid under a tree, eyes closed and the light breeze ruffling his red hair a bit. Things were boring lately and he couldn't find much to amuse himself, especially since Noah had gone back to the mountains. He still didn't understand why the gray blue anthro lived up there. Yawning, he stretched a bit and looked up at the clouds, waiting for something to happen.

Selaba wandered through the forest, idly sniffing a clump of flowers she came across. As she did, she noticed a nice scent in the air that she couldn't quite place. Nose to the breeze, she took another couple stepps, trying to locate the source of the scent.
Since she wasn't looking where she was putting her feet, she tripped over a root and lost her balance, she tottered for a moment before tumbling down a nearby hill. She rolled tail-over-ears for several long moments before she crashed into something soft and fimiliar. She raised her head dizzily. It took a couple moments for her eyes to focus, but then she blushed when she noticed she was half-lying on Axel.

Axel's ears perked as he heard something come crashing down. Looking around he saw a ball of spotted fur coming his way. Normally, the red head would have moved out of the way, but this time his body wouldn't respond. Before he knew it the ball of fur landed on him. Axel's cheeked burned a little when he realized it was Selaba.
"Um...hey there...Selaba..."

"Er...Hi..." she responded unsteadily. Whey did she have a tendancy to literally run into him like this. "Sorry about that," she added as she backed up so she wasn't on top of him, "I tripped and fell, sort of." She sat down next to him, and for lack of anythgin else to say she asked, "How've you been lately?"

Axel dusted himself off a bit as Selaba backed away. He wondered how they always met up in such interesting and weird ways. "It's alright Sel. I'm sort of used to running in to you in weird ways, or you running in to me like now." The red head smiles down at her as he resituated himself against the tree. "Well, I haven't really done anything really, so I've been kind of bored lately. How about you?"

"I'm about the same as you," Selaba responded. "Not much has happened to me lately, either. The most interesting things I've done are with you." She paused a moment, wondering if that sounded odd, but gave a mental shrug and went on. "It's a nice day today," she commented, looking around.

Axel's gaze fell from the sky ubove down to the grey leopard spotted female below. "Is that true? 'Cause I do have to admit that the most fun I've had is when I'm with you. Though, there is no suprise in that since you are the only one I'm close to and trust on this island besides Ri, but I'm much closer to you than her."

Selaba looked back at Axel with a big smile. "Of course it's true, I love being with you. Besides, you've said yourself that there's not much to do here a lot of the time."
