A simple enough task. Stay out of trouble and watch his brother. It wasn't anything too different than most days involving errands. Haruki deal with things in town, he stayed out of trouble. The main difference today was that Phace was with him, as well as a rather disgruntled dragon.
Not a problem, he could do this. Or would find a way. Whatever it took to do what he'd ben told.
Revon glanced down once more checking that the teal haired boy beside him was sitll wobbling along as unsteadily as usual. He wasn't great at walking yet, but at least he managed now. It was a lot of progress actually. Even if he did need to hold someone's hand to stay up. And holding the staff while he was at it was out of the question. Not that it was too much trouble, he could easily carry his young siblings staff for him. One hand was enough to ensure the boy didn't topple over due to gravity.
Phace had been getting out more lately, partially due to the warmer weather, partially due to practice for walking. It didn't matter much to him what the reason was though, he just enjoyed running around outdoors. It was fun, refreshing, and had none of that annoying noise that hurt his ears. Outside was quiet and natural. In other words, something that couldn't cause grief. So, despite the fact towns were busy it wasn't trouble. Random chatter drowned out aything that could have been a bother, and the people were interesting to watch. Even if that seemed odd.
The boy paused in his steps briefly to watch one particularly odd person trail by before nearly getting drug along and managing a few sloppy steps to catch up. He'd only begun to catch up when the single familiar voice in the crowd suddenly exclaimed that this place would do. What place? Well it was certainly green, and as the door was opened he quickly realized it was even hotter inside. Which was where he was directed.
Not so great. Both ears slipped down at the sudden change in environment. From a more dry heat to a humid heat that felt rather stuff. It sort of felt like the water was clinging to him, making him feel sticky suddenly. A definite reason to dislike this place. "Uoomnng..." It was more of a senseless disgruntled noise than anything as he stalled midstep, trying to shake the feeling. Which was about the time the next overwhelming thing about the shop hit. The smell.
It wasn't so much as bad smell as slightly overpowering if you didn't realize it was coming. A few coughs quickly hit the boy as he attempted to clear that from himself as well. What an odd place this was, nothing like he'd been in before.
Revon knew wha he was getting into when he stepped into the greenhouse-like shop. He'd been expecting the bombardment of fifteen flower smells at once mixed with the humidity. Though he'd forgotten that Phace wouldn't know what to make of it. Still, he did seem to be recovering, despite the fact he still looked mildly displeased with the whole affair. "It's a greenhouse. For flowers." Which led to a glance at the young dragon that was following them in. "Uh... well not that flower. Plant ones." He corrected hoping to have made it more clear. Certainly it made sense to him, what with all the bright plants poking out from planters and pots throughout the shop. "It helps them grow better."
Phace still didn't really get why the place needed to be a hothouse for plants to grow. He'd seen them growing just fine in the park, but there wasn't much to be done. So a few more tentative steps to make sure he'd been placated and they were wandering down an aisle as music box preceded to point out a few types, or just coo over how pretty something was. He still just thought the place was smelly and sticky.

Prana bent over a selection of orchids, admiring their bright hues and delicate scents. There was a wide variety, and each one was more beautiful than the last. If it was up to her, she would have taken all of them home. But of course it wasn't entirely up to her, and she knew that most would probably not survive outside the regulated greenhouse temperatures anyway.
Things would be so much easier if Rinsei had been able to come along! It was the whole reason Prana had planned the trip in the first place, as a way to get to know the other girl better. But then Rinsei had come down with a cold, and still insisted that Prana go and explore the nursery. She was determined to find a good get well present for the girl, but it felt strange being in such a place all alone.
"Did you find anything yet?" Karan asked from a few feet away. He had found a bench underneath a big leafy palm tree as soon as they came in, and hadn't moved since. It was much too hot in there for his tastes. If it was up to him, he wouldn't have come inside the greenhouse at all. But of course it wasn't entirely up to him, and in any event the weather outside wasn't much better. At least under the palm tree he had some shade.
Maybe she wasn't all alone, Prana thought with a hint of a smile. "Not yet," she replied, looking around. A bell tinkled in the distance, and she turned her head towards the door to see who had come in. Someone about her age, dressed in pink, and a little boy by the looks of it. Prana waved shyly before turning back to the plants. There was no harm in greeting a fellow nature lover, was there?
Looking around to see who Prana was waving at, Karan's eyes widened. The girl in the pink and the kid were one thing, but the big black thing was something else! "Is that a dragon?" he asked, only aware too late that he'd uttered his question aloud. Wincing, he clapped his hand over his mouth, then pointedly looked away. "Drat."

Noooot happy. The further along they wandered the less he liked the place. As if the first blast of smells wasn't enough it was gettin stronger the closer they grew to boxes. Though was adjusting... a bit. It wasn't fact enough to keep the boy from looking anything less than disgruntled. Both ears laying low against his head and his nose scrunched up in an attempt to ward off the smell. One that failed.
Revon, however, was in his own form of cloud nine. He'd even gotten a bit of a wave upon entering. Something he returned lightly with a bright smile. Ah, it was wonderful to be among other's who understood your love for something. Even if his own little brother couldn't yet grasp the concept. Though speech did catch his attention, but he likely would have let it drop with a simple yes had it not been for Flower's reaction.
Flower hated the place. Utterly loathed. Far beyond Phace's dislike for the whole thing. Fresh and frilly. That's what it was. Nothing like the climate that nature whispered in his ear was right. No, nothing like what he was bound to be drawn to. Quite the opposite of those stagnant swamps. He opened his mouth once before cosing it again with a click of his teeth shutting together. A habitual way to show his annoyance, seeing as hissing didn't always work. Though he'd only just begun to once again turn his attention to hating the place, as he'd briefly lost that train of thought, when the recognition caught his attention. He'd lifted his head to look at the boy before his mouth twisted slightly. It was about as close to a smirk as any dragon could get, but it showed the obvious satisfaction. That was how people should react, perhaps awe, confusion, god knows what all. So long as it was seen as something special. Dragons weren't common afterall.
Revon might have been less frightened if he'd known why the dragon looked so pleased in his own twisted way. Through the lack of knowledge, however, a panicked look quickly replaced the once happy expression. What now? A slight tug drew Phace way from the center of the aisle where he'd been attempting to find shelter from the smells. The pull brought the young boy closer to his legs after the minor resistance was given up. That aside, he gave the dragon a pleading look, almost begging. "Flower... don't." It was quiet, hopefully enough so that other's wouldn't hear. Please, please just let Flower behave. He honestly hoped he wouldn't be surrounded by a bunch of toppled flowers soon.
The dragon gave a brief glance to the bid at the words before rolling his eyes and letting his head fall back into place. Was he allowed nothing? This was why he hated humans. Such bossy creatures, believing that other's would always follow their lead. Well, he would certainly not be one of their pawns. He waited not a moment longer before starting off toward the boy, deaf to the squeak that his 'partner' had issued in regard to the action. Oh yes, he was certainly a proud dragon.
