At age 6, I was diagnosed with depression. sad
I was at a normal weight and everything.
My doctor put me on paxil - at age 6!!!!!!!
I kept taking paxil up until I was twelve.
At that age I had gained over 75 pounds!!!
I was very overweight all b/c of the medication paxil.
I JUST WANTED TO WARN EVERYBODY WHO HAS DEPRESSION NOT TO TAKE PAXIL!!!
Around age 12 I decided to get on a new medication called Welbutrin XL.
I recommend this medication to everyone who has depression and has gained weight from previous medications.
Welbutrin XL is sort of like a happy pill & weight loss pill all it one for me. It made me lose A LOT of weight and I wasn't depressed anymore smile
WARNING: DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL IF YOU ARE JUST WANTING TO LOSE A FEW EXTRA POUNDS.
Well anyways a few weeks ago I quit taking welbutrin and now I am currently not taking anything for my depression... I was on the highest dose of welbutrin and it is very bad to quit taking it abruptly which I did... I've been having migrainces muscle aches mood swings cramps joint aches dizzyness nausea and everything...
Haha... I just wanted to tell everybody this and point out how dumb I am.

I WAS taking Effexor. I think that made me gain weight, BUT my depression kind of got...well, normal. xD
Welbutrin didn't really work for me, but I'm glad it worked for you. =]

A few years ago my doctor made me take Zoloft. ...I didn't like it, so I quit taking it after a few days. Thought I should probably still have a psychologist.

Me and my mom are both diagnosed with depression... My mom takes pills for it but the doctor said I can't cause 15's to young. >.<

You're the youngest person I've encountered who took Paxil.

Your doctor put you on Paxil for depression?
I thought that was a medicine that was more associated with bipolar disorder?
Anyway.
My psychologist had told me I had depression, but that's because my anxiety causes it. So if we clear my anxiety up, then the depression would cease too.
My mom used to take Zoloft, and she said it worked amazingly for her.
