I just bought CS:S yesterday, and I want to get maps off the internet so I can play LAN games with maps like de_rats which must be downloaded. Is this ormal?

well you shouldn't have to go to a site or anything to download them. When you go into a server and you don't have the map that it's playing, they map should automatically download from STEAM to your computer.
