Durem Caves are a lot closer to their original location than that. Wasn't everyone in Gambino's Durem Mansion? Since Edmund walked from his home (which is most likely in his shop).

It looks like they walked there, so I'd say it could be the hut behing Gambino's house.
I mean, it's a bunker, not a hiding place.

Then again, it could be an entrance to a massive tunnel system stretching across the whole of Gaia!
