Lately I've been wondering if I can still be a gamer if I have no time for games. School and work have been getting in the way, unfortunately. What are your thoughts on a definition of a gamer?

A gamer is a person who plays & enjoys video games. During school season I rarely have time to play my ps2, but that doesn't make me any less of a gamer. Long as you still like video games and play when you are able to get a chance I'd say you qualify. 3nodding Heck I have an old friend who'd come over to my house and play my ps2 with me before he was able to get his. Did he become a gamer when he owned his own system? No, before he had his he was a gamer for he played video games at my house and loved em!

My view of a gamer is someone who enjoys games or a game enough that they are not embarased to bring it up and talk about it in depth in everyday conversation, no matter how strange or "geeky" other, less open-minded people, may think it is. Once a gamer always a gamer. wink

See I have the same problem. With School happening and even on weekends I feel I don't have anytime for video games lately. But I did earlier this week buy a game for my DS.
But I still see myself as a gamer! heart

Someone who tests thier skills by heart. Doing it because they love it. Another good definition for a gamer is Ameture. (It means someone doing something because they love it)

I really couldn't fathom NOT being a gamer at this point. I was pretty much raised on videogames and have always been glued to them and manage to find time for them. For those unfortunate enough to not be able to game it up, I think you're still a gamer as long as you have played, enjoyed, talk about, and and respect videogames and the people behind them. Wiggy.
