Magdelen tries her best to seem apathetic to everything and to isolate herself from others, and in fact she gets quite good at it over time. However, when things do get to be enough to actually distress her, she's unequipped to handle it correctly; teasing her is enough to make her run off and cry. She will never tell anyone if you get through her thick skin.
She has very little understanding of herself. Her goals are things that she thinks other people expect of someone like her and not actually things she wants or likes to do; then, when these things are accomplished, she doesn't understand why she's unhappy. It can be the most expensive, most wonderful thing for another child and she won't like it, and then she gets angry because she doesn't get why she doesn't like it. Because she should, right? Her greatest ambition is to be normal. However, her attempts are crippled by her disease, which pulls her out of class far too often for her to really advance.

She uses class time well, sets her goals, and works towards them at a steady pace. She is respectful of her teachers, but avoids being seen as ingratiating towards them. Crowley, generally called Crow, is a sports kid. It seems like all he really cares about is fall soccer, winter track, spring baseball, and summer surfing. He's a pretty easy guy to get along with, even if he's prone to saying tactless things. Also, he is prone to halfassing things.

Elizabeth is a talkative child, happy to interrupt any teacher with an inane or incredibly irritating comment whenever she thinks of them. Being perfectly polite and downright awkward by turns, she sometimes raises her hand and other times just interrupts. She says that this is to teach people to expect the unexpected, a phrase she may have cannibalized from Harry Potter. Mathematics and art are her particular favorite classes, though she also has an on-again-off-again affair with English.

It would be relatively simple to dismiss Fish as Crowley's sidekick, and that's pretty close to accurate, though Fish would tell you Crowley is as much his sidekick as he is his. He's not as athletically talented as his best friend, except maybe when it comes to surfing and swimming where he's far better, but he still goes out for all the teams and tries his hardest. His studies are another story entirely - if Fish actually applied himself, he could be one of the best in the class, but instead he prefers to goof off and squeak by with the minimum amount of effort required. He's less outgoing than Crowley, but he means well.

Level Two Ginger is the more outgoing of the two.
She's usually happy and friendly, as long
as things are going her way. She tends to
be a bit too social in class, often having to
rush to finish her work on time...when she
finishes it at all, that is.
Zemel is the level-headed and more
cautious of the two. He's soft spoken, but still fairly
friendly. He's the kind a kid you can almost forget is
in a class; sitting off to the side, almost dead silent
unless spoken to. He's a hard worker,
always giving his 100% effort.

Sweet and patient, he's one of the kindest children you'll ever meet, always doing his best to help others. Though his webbed feet make him something of a slow runner, he loves sports, and he has no trouble kicking the ball! Swimming, diving, and soccer are his favorite things to do. As a student, he's average at best, pulling Bs and Cs, but he works hard and he knows that even if he's not that straight-A student or the cleverest kid in the room, his dad will love him no matter what, and the world needs good and kind people just as much as it needs smart ones!  Katie Magos - journalThane Magos (guardian) / romesilk Level 1 Katie is a sweet but headstrong little girl who doesn't always take much note of rules and regulations. She never intends to break rules, she just doesn't go out of her way to follow them. Very independent, she likes people and is quite friendly and outgoing, but prefers to do things by herself as much as possible. While she's physically quite fit and can keep pace with the little boys her age, she doesn't care for team sports. She neither excels nor struggles in any of her coursework and is a solid B student with the sole exception of art class, which she enjoys, though she's not particularly gifted in the subject. She loves the outdoors. Generally, she's seen as a nice student, friendly but a tad aloof. There's a definite sense that school is not a huge priority in her life, socially or academically.  Morgan clickphillip rosenwald / ladyumbra Level 2 Morgan is a naturally curious child, he wants to understand the world around them, how it works, how big it is and what's out there in it.This tends to make him adventurous and leads him to exploring places and touching things he really shouldn't. Morgan isn't really fond of rules since they make it hard to do things the way they want to; thus he will try a find way to twist or avoid them whenever possible. Fear is for other people, Morgan has no time for tiptoeing around bugs or freezing in the dark when exploring. He's very much a sort of my way or the highway boy. School is something of a new challenge for him Language Arts | Math | Social Studies | Music | Physical Education | science |  Skylar clickCaleb rosenwald / ladyumbra Level 2 Skylar is a person who lives very much in the now. He focuses on immediately obtainable goals and is usually only concerned with consequences that take place soon after an action has occurred. In some ways this is good becuase it prevents him from dwelling on things too long and getting worked up about them. On the flipside he doesn't tend to think into the future much or plan ahead which can cause trouble. The Nu mou boy has good observational and mimicing skills but whether this is helpful or not in school will remain to be seen.
