Halo Wars, a Real Time Strategy game, is going to be released TBA 2008. It is a spinoff of the famous (and overhyped) franchise Halo designed by Bungie, a Microsoft owned company. Halo Wars is developed by Bungie and Ensemble. Ensemble is the creator of the famous RTS franchise Age of Empires. Halo Wars looks like it'll be a good RTS game. I've always enjoyed RTS games, so it's a no brainer that I'd want to this. Halo is also a pretty good game, although I'm not all crazy about it as most people are. So combining the two seems like a good idea. But I guess I'll wait until they show some actual gameplay or a demo of it before I set my sights on getting it for sure.

Raunzel Halo Wars looks like it'll be a good RTS game. I've always enjoyed RTS games, so it's a no brainer that I'd want to this. Halo is also a pretty good game, although I'm not all crazy about it as most people are. So combining the two seems like a good idea. It looks pretty cool. Seems like they have all the vehicles. But I wonder what the USNC will have to counter the Scarab.

Warthogs sound exactly like Warthogs, needlers like needlers, elites grunt the same way...they explained that in the 1upYours podcast. As for what to counter the scarab gun...idk, I'm not completely sure how it works, I didn't play Halo 2, I just learned about it through the Samus vs Chief thread.

The same sound effects? Even better.
I don't mean the Scarab gun, since I doubt they'd have that in there. I mean the actual Scarab, which I believe they showed at the end of the gameplay trailer. It doesn't really look that big in it though.
But the USNC has to have something to counter it, or the Covenant would have an unfair advantage.

Its bungie they overhype everything and halo 3 is def overhyped no doubt but i still want the elite edition of halo3 my dad is lagging on preordering it which means he prolly wont get one -sigh- hes stupid like that he wants something real bad but he wont get it because he thinks its too much and then hell get all pissy over it if i hav the money ill get whatever the hell i feel like biggrin owell biggrin halo wars zomg my psp is in lack of a rts... -sigh-

halo is a classic for the xbox, so no surprise that the 360 would HAVE to come out with those two. lolz
I personally am looking forward to halo3; its gonna be THE best thing out there since sliced bread. neutral
HOWEVER; I am looking forward to a game in particular way MORE than halo3. Its release date has not yet been anounced; but I think the hype will build as it becomes more promoted.... this allmighty game- Call of duty 4; modern warfare.
why? Because cod3 is a kick butt awsome game; and the newest one proves to be even better. (check out previews and gameplay vids on the internet; just google it! biggrin )
Halo3 is on my "must buy" list; however (again lolz) I am against the fact that they are selling previews or as its commonly called "game demo's" of the game for the price that the game itself will be sold for when its released. I think thats just crazy. If you want to play an online demo; buy crackdown that has the demo version of it with it for no extra cost. You just get way more that way. (although i myself have not purchased it.)

I like the idea of Halo Wars cause it gives u so much more then just playing as the master chief you can make ur own awsome battles cause no matter how u cut it the battles in the Halo games are always pretty one sided if its on easy the marines and u a rippin into the aliens on legendary its the other way around I just think there ought to be more exchanges between the two sides in a fire fight maybe this game will give that to us but thats just me
