"Demons & Wizards is a power metal/thrash metal recording project conceived as a side-project of the metal bands Blind Guardian and Iced Earth. It is made up of the vocalist for Blind Guardian, Hansi Kürsch, and the guitarist of Iced Earth, Jon Schaffer. Schaffer writes the music and Kürsch writes the lyrics. The band's line-up during the recording of their first album in 2000 also consisted of Mark Prator, who was the drummer on a few Iced Earth albums, and Jim Morris doing most of the guitar solos, Morris also having worked with Iced Earth in the past."

Taken from Wikipedia

I noticed there wasn't a thread here for them so...

I first got into them because I'm a huge Stephen King fan. especially of the Dark Tower, and they have the album Touched by the Crimson King which was several songs written specifically about Dark Tower.

I LOVE their style, it says on Wikipedia the name was to reflect the "demon-like themes and sounds of Iced Earth and wizard-like themes and sounds of Blind Guardian" and it sounds GREAT.

I highly recommend Crimson King and Seize the Day among others...

I like them. Some of their stuff is too over the top, though. Crimson King and Fiddler on the Green are great songs.

Those are 2 of my favourites. Haven't heard most of the first CD, but other than The Immigrant Song, the second CD came together well.

I love Demons and Wizards. I've had Touched by the Crimson King for a few months now and just picked up the s/t about 3 weeks ago. I deffinently think the s/t is a much better album since there were quite a few weak songs on Touched by the Crimson King.

I love both of the albums, but "Touched by the Crimson King" is probably my favorite. I LOVE the cover of "Immigrant Song", they nailed that one. "Fiddler on the Green" is an amazing song as well. But the one about the train has some pretty out there lyrics.

I happened to be in London a few days after Touched by the Crimson King had been released. I had only heard a few songs from their previous album, but I took a chance and bought the CD-pack. I can say, it was a good purchase. I enjoy TbtCK more than their self-titled album, because it has more energy to it. Too bad the bonus CD doesn't contain much extra (as in songs), but their cover of the Immigrant Song is awesome!

I love these guys. Blind Guardian vocals with Iced Earth shredding riffs and solos... How could you go wrong!? Touched by the Crimson King is a great album! Crimson King and Terror Train are really good songs.

Hey I actually have an idea for the next album. I want to know your opinion on this. Instead of just Iced Earth playing and Blind Guardian singer Hansi singing, what if, they switched off on certain songs. And then at the end, have like a face off between Hansi and Matt. Doesn't that sound like an awesome idea?
