Is the point of this thread to discuss Viki? Becuase I'm not getting much of that out of the firts post...

But anyway, something tells me IV Viki was the first, and V was the last. IV showed the most substantial change in character so yeah... She probably went through the first three games in order. This can be observed by her steadily increasing stupidity and unawarness throughout the timeline.

If thats the case then why does she mention feasts or banquets when you get her in 4?

If thats how it really went about then she wouldn't have said anything that might suggest she came from a preceding war.

She skips through time!

I think one thing I forgot to mention about this thread is just what connection Viki has to the entire world. I mean she has been present in every single war thus far and has prior knowledge of actually being in them hence her saying she was attending the victory ceremonies of all those other wars.

Story wise, as in her role in the story, as in her story, was a God named Konami did create her from graphite and ink to save the Titans known as "Players" from having to walk everywhere and suffer the pain of random battles. Once her role in a war has ended, the hand of God does make her sneeze with the pepper of fate to teleport her to the next war and assist the new Titans as well as returning ones avoid the fate yet again. Did I mention that is her IN GAME STORY? eek

OK no, I'm not trying to make fun of anyone really, it's just clear that Viki is a gameplay device and I doubt they've even thought up her universal significance yet. If I were a bettin' man (which I am) I'd take a guess that the true runes bend fate and guides her to the next point of significance in true rune struggles. Perhaps to fix the outcome of each war to their own benefit? Let's see:

In Suikoden Viki helps the liberation army and their victory means the end of Windy both liberating the half of the wind rune in her and stopping her from scouring the lands for true runes.

In 2 Viki helps the City-State armies which in the end leads to the release and defeat of the beast rune and possibly (depending on which end is cannon) the birth of the true beginning rune.

In 3 Viki helps stop the destruction of the wind rune

In 4 Viki helps the island nations unify and cease the use of rune cannons, as well as finally (also depending on which ending is cannon) find the rune of punishment a permanent host

In 5 Viki helps to re-unite the dawn and twilight rune as well as kept the Sun Rune from being fully exploited by an unworthy host.

Of course I lose alot of bets, so this is about as plausible as Claymore being in the Jump! sequel (if there even is one)

Up until now, we don't know if she has a connection with the big bosses (e.g Leknaat, Hikusaak...)

In my opinion, she might be a guardian like Leknaat and she's just playing as an air-head. Did you guys ever wonder she acts sleepy whenever you need to do something story-wise surprised ??? Oh well I guess the game encoders and script writers just did that... Nevermind.
