I was just wondering, how do the lolies here celebrate their birthday. Also, I was just wondering about asking a birthday lolita in general.
I just wanted some suggestions, as my birthday is Saturday and I was thinking of taking some friends to an art Gallery. Not entirely lolita I know, but we haven't had much time to plan.

A trip to an art gallery sounds delightful! ^^ You could pack a picnic to eat outside if it's nice. Cute party favors are also a nice touch.
If I planned a Lolita birthday party... I think it would start with a tour of one of the beautiful 18th century houses with a expansive garden. Or even better-- the home of Mark Twain... he had a beautiful Victorian manor. Then, we'd have a berry themed tea party and some games such as carpet ball and croquet.
whee whee whee

I love to host really large tea-party sleep-overs. =D we generally go shopping the next day.. running around town rummaging through the more classy thrift and antique stores. a trip the a museum sounds fun though... too hot to have a picnic...but those are fun when convienent ^__^ going to concerts or plays are always a plus too, when you are older you can just have them play their own way as your b-day present.

Something that might be fun would be a lolita glamor shots-style party? Have girls mix, match, or swap outfits and take photographs after doing one another's hair and the like. At least, I think it'd be fun for those who are able to do it.
The picnic idea would also probably be pretty good. Uhm. Maybe complement the picnic with a trip to a park, zoo, or other outdoors attraction if the weather is nice?

The Glamour shots idea is a good one, you could even go into a walk-ihn professional photo place and get copies for you and your friends, they are usually only 20-50 dollars depending on the size and amount of people. i have a friend that works at one =)

I'm taking my friends to an art Gallery called the American Art Visonary, which is not a conventional gallery. We went there on an art field trip and I've wanted to go back. For dinner/lunch we're going to a rather nice Japanese restraunt called Minato. In our area I believe Edgar Allen Poe's grave is near by so it would be nice to see that.
All of your ideas sound good, and I will definately add those to idea lists. ^_^

Awr, I am terribly jealous. My birthday is in less than two weeks and I have nothing planned. I wouldn't even know what to plan since I'll be by myself and friendless. >< I adore the art gallery idea.
I would love to have a garden tea party and sleepover with an Alice In Wonderland theme beneath an old tree with a swing. We'll make the desserts ourselves then after we eat, we'll spend time making goodies and playing games then eventually watch the starry night sky.

I'm the only Lolita within my group of friends, but it would be simply marvelous to have everyone dress up as maybe their idea of an Alice character or something along those lines. Then possibly a Mad Tea Party of sorts. <3
It's be rather nice to have period games too. Croquet especially or even Blind man's bluff! I'm now getting ideas for my 16th birthday xD That is if I don't go to Japan.
It's too bad that you're spending your birthday away from Family and friends. Happy Early birthday too by the way. Mmm...I just kinda put this together over Wendensday and today.

The last couple of years I've gone to a tea house for my birthday. Turns out, most people enjoy the experience, male or female (although the guys usually end up really hungry afterwards). We did go to an art gallery last year, there was one close by the tea shop.

My friends birthday is in November and she says that she's not planning anything, so me and a few other people decided that we are all going to dress up[me and Ashley are actually buying Baby dresses while another is going to wear a more Gothic/Victorian styled outfit that she already owns] and kidnap Vanessa and go down to Galena, which is an older town in IL. It has a few historical museums, a gorgeous garden, tons of antique shops (every other store is one...it's nearly ridiculous), plus an adorable tea room. The whole town is done in a colonial style, so while it isn't classic loli it's still really pretty . The plan is to take her to the various museums and/or walk through the garden, then after lunch at this cute little bakery, we'll go shopping. We also told some other people to come around 8pm to the tea room for her actual birthday party...a candle lit affair on their rooftop parlor with cake, gifts, and of course tea. I hope she'll like it...it's been really fun to plan it so far!

I think, a good lolita birthday would consist of going to a museum, art gallery or a concert or opera, then having a picnic with lots of loli goodies that everyone makes to share, or going out to eat if it's a small group (but a picnic would be cool with a small group, maybe even better!)
don't forget a sweet strawberry cake! biggrin
Candy colors, I wish I had friends like you! or, *A* friend. XD (just moved...very boring)
