Okay so i was thinking about how many students there must be at hogwarts. So I was thinking. There are 10 new students to each house each year. So a a total of 40 students.
And there are 7 years of Hogwarts so 7 times 40 is 280.
So there must be about 280 Kids in total at hogwarts. That isnt alot if you ask me. At my school there is over a thousand kids. And my higschool is SMALL. About the same size as my middle school actualy.
So How Big is howgarts? I mean it cant be THAT large. Its only about 295 people with teachers...
Has JKR answred this question? Can someone tell me?

Apparently J.K. has said that there are about 1000 kids that go to Hogwarts. Of course the movie doesn't depict that but that is what she said. Something close to that number anyway, definitely more that 280

How do you know only ten go to each house every year? I always assumed it was more than that...
(And you realize you spelled "Ireland" wrong in your poll, right? ._.
...and also, "castle" and "huge"...)
