It's started with a quest! "Mysterious Ingredients for Edmund"
Edmund is PMing people with a request for Garlic and Black Orchids found from a shopkeeper in Barton (its' Rina in the Flowershop - they cost 250g each btw).
Handing the items over gets you a Black Orchid broach which Edmund says is very important to our SURVIVAL!!!!!!
The second time he says it's a show of good faith and he's giving them to friends.
The third time is the same again; and like the other Gaia quests it appears this can only be done 3 times!
Squee!
Black Orchid Brooch A gorgeous Black Orchid brooch, courtesy of Edmund. Wearing this item shows that you're a friend to Edmund's cause.

O__O
I just got a PM from the Von Helson sisters.... one of them has stitch marks down her face....zombie style.... OMG!!!!!!
EDIT - She also has stitches down her side / waist. The Sisters ask for 500g and give out "Blood Drop Brooch An elegant Blood Drop brooch from the Von Helson sisters. Wear this item to show your allegiance to the Von Helson sisters." - don't know if it's just me, but I could only get the thing twice.

Three times max? Good to know. Though, my quest data is having an error fit in all the lag, I think.
Nevertheless. I like brooches.

Both quests are 3 x max - but for some reason this account will only let me do 2 VH ones . crying
Still, I'm on the marketplace buying them up like crazy - mad people are selling them for 100 / 200 /300g which is already a saving on the 500g it costs - but just imagine, if these are going to be anywhere near as popular as the G-Pin or the less popular V-Pin halves, they're going to be worth a MINT in a few years time! mrgreen
I'm going back to the market now to see what the B.Orchids are going for! twisted

... i have a plan
If you have the brooch and do not support the Von Helsons ... sell them cheap.
Same for Edmund.
It's a terrible gold sink, but the concept is to undercut support for both. The value of each brooch is 500g.

Possibly, but that's just putting money out on the market - people will still do the quests because it's part of the fun. The only way to seriously undermine them is to do one quest and not the other, which the unequal bar seems to be showing at the moment.

I'm surprised that the VH are so far behind. I mean, the quests have only been out for a couple of hours, but I'm surprised it's not more even, especially with the hype of them being "alive".

I was sort of surprised by that as well - I've got my suspicions that it's either rigged (highly unlikely) or the Sisters are saving for something a hell of a lot more expensive than what Edmund's going for... I see you've got your anti-VH board out, I think I might have to crack mine out of the safe now too! I bet the prices of the V-Pins will skyrocket over the next few weeks! rofl

I have an extra half that I could sell if inflation works in my favour. And yeah, xd , right now I'm anti-VH. But tomorrow I plan on changing to anti-gambino to balance it out. <-- is playing sitting-on-the-fence-game until she decides where he loyalies lay.

The Vh are/were (I haven't checked) behind because the fact you can do it twice is less obvious for them. For Edmund it's like "MORE STUFF HERE!"
