Heartbreak baby is half the fun
‡My Grandma taught me this easy-squeesey way to get rid of your leftover mashed potatoes.
First;
You'll need a pan, a stove, a spatula, some pan oil to keep the potatoes from sticking, a little bit of butter, and obviously- potatoes.
You can also add a few spices, pepper, or cheese as you see fit. It's yummy with ketchup, too.
Second;
Set the pan on the stove and pour some pan oil onto the pan. Turn up the heat to Medium, and put a slice of butter in the pan. {{Butter works better than margarine}} Poke the butter around a little bit with the spatula so that it melts relatively evenly across the pan.
Third;
Wash your hands before you do this next step.
Take the leftover mashed potatoes and form them into golf-ball sized chunks. Then flatten them a little so that they make little pancakes. {{They should still be kinda thick.}}
If you're using spices, pepper or cheese, don't forget to sprinkle them on the potatoes.
Stick the potato-cakes in the pan, and try not to let them touch eachother.
Fourth;
Let them fry for a little while, and then turn them over with the spatula.
Repeat this a few times until you have a nice brown crust over most or all of the potato-cakes.
Fifth;
Turn the stove off, and put the potatoes on a plate to cool for just a little bit.
Then serve!
8D Enjoy, everyone. <3‡
