Okay, so I notice we have a lot of awesome anime topics in this guild, but we are sadly missing a topic for... master artist Miyazaki Hayao! He is responsible for the production of animes like Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, Nausicaa, Porco Rosso, Totoro, etc. He is also one of my favorite anime artists/storytellers. So, use this place to talk about how super fantastic Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli are! xd

I love Miyazaki-san!!! He's the best animator in thwhole world!! I've watched Spirited Away 24 times and while watching his movies I want to become an animation translator. I love the art and especially the plots. Even the little touches of like Chihiro puttin on her shoes made the anime that much better!

I love Miyazaki. He really is great when it comes to creating new ideas. On itunes they also have up a musicbox version of a lot of his songs. They just put it up in their new update. They're so pretty. I own the Spirited Away dvd, but have seen all the ones that have crossed to the US. I think Castle in the Sky happens to be my favorite though.

You know, it's so funny that you mention that because it's those little things that make me love Miyazaki so much. He's got this special touch when it comes to animating even the simplest things. Like, you pointed out, Chihiro putting on her shoes... or, for me, when Howl cooks eggs for Sophie and Markl. Just the way he cracks the eggs and then gives them to Calcifer... whee It's a really simple action yet the way Miyazaki animates it is so cool. And I definitely agree... Miyazaki is the best animator in the world exclaim

Naruto-Furuba14 My favs would have to be Spirted Away, Princess Mononoke, Nausicaa, Whisper of the Heart, and Howl's Moving Castle Um. I'm not sure if you are talking about Studio Ghibli or Miyazaki but Whisper of the Heart was directed by Yoshifumi Kondo, although the fantasy sequences were directed by Miyazaki. But Whisper of the Heart is the shizz. I didn't know I was a country music fan until I watched that movie.

You know, I just saw Whisper of the Heart the other day, and I completely loved it. From what I understand, (and go to http://www.nausicaa.net/miyazaki/mimi/ for my citation) Miyazaki was responsible for the screenplay and storyboards in the film's production. I think you can tell too it isn't completely a Miyazaki production, but I still loved it. Shizuku was like my anime double! I heart all Studio Ghibli female protagonists. They're so strong and realistic!
