Tenshi headed down the sidewalk, pushing a crib in front of her full of supplies. Thankfully the crib had wheels. Or at least thankfully for this instance, it had caused problems in the past. Ever hear of "Baby racing?" it wasn't that great for a single parent.
Behind her trailed Sesshomaru, who wasn't carrying anything. Like hell he'd help move this s**t. He was glad to have it out of the house, but he wasn't going to put any effort into transporting it.
Or ringing the doorbell for that matter. After a short leer Tenshi sighed and took one hand off the crib, before ringing the doorbell to the house whoms address was written on a piece of paper in her pocket.
"I hope we got the right place."
"Can I kill them if we didn't?"
"No."
"..."

"Jest hold on fer a moment!" came an answering shout from inside. There was a lot of noise, seething, grunting, groaning, a few sharp cries.
They stopped soon enough, but still no one was opening the door. Another, "I'm comin'!" called out.
Click. Click. Click.
It was coming closer.
Someone was grumbling. The doorknob jittered twice.
Then finally it opened, revealing the still laid up Nathan, standing with his crutches. The pendant was still around his neck, and he backed away from the door with two little hops, using his right crutch to open up the door.
He took one look at the cage. Then the doorway.
"I don't think it'll fit..." he muttered. It was close. Maybe an inch off if not just exact.

Sesshomaru's eyes glinted with a hint of amusement as he set his hand on the hilt of his sword, but Tenshi looked back at him and shook her head.
"No problem. This is Sesshomaru's old crib, and when I got him I was living in a shabby little shack that was tight on space." She explained, and after doing so she squeezed the side of the crib, causing it to collapse on itself and squeeze to half size.
"This way when you don't need it anymore you can just squeeze it to the size of a sheet of plywood and slide it under a bed or something." She said, before pushing it threw the door.
Sesshomaru followed in and glanced Nathan over, before he released his sword.
"What happened to you?" he asked in a 'I'm not really interested' tone.

"I could ask you the same thing," he said, doing a fair imitation of the kid's tone. Not entirely on target though, his natural accent made it come off a bit more soft than the kid's most likely.
Mister Nathan's place was pretty much a shack right now too. Looked like three rooms at best. A living/bed room with a little twin bed that he was taking up. A door that lead to a bathroom. And a small kitchen.
He pointed to a spot that had apparently been cleared near his bed, "Over there if you will."
The rest of the place? Hazardous Terrain. Books, junk, garbage spread out. Nothing rotting or growing. But lots of stuff like discarded boxes, old newspapers...
Yeah, he was somewhat a slob.

Sesshomaru's eyes thinned with a bit of anger, before returning to normal. He had learned not to attack on whim around Tenshi, for she had ways of making his life hell if he did. How the hell did he ever let himself get in this kind of situation? Mortals, honestly.
Tenshi slid the crib acrossed the floor and re-expanded it next to the bed. She then began pulling some of the objects out of the bed, before turning to Nathan.
"I also gave you one of my old diaper bags, some old bottles, a binky, some toys to keep him entertained. Basically enough to get you started for the first couple weeks." She showed him the objects quickly, but lingered when she lifted up a book entitled 'So you're a first time parent?'
"This will answer any questions you might have, since I'm assuming Hibiki is your first. If you ever have any questions just call me or the center and we'll help you to the best of our ability." She then set down the book, before walking over and looking at the pendant around his neck.
"Now has he been behaving?"

(( Now here I thought most Slave men were "Good people" and the Slave Holders were the Evil ones. ))
"Seems he's learned to jump, or something..."
Nathan reached up, grabbin' a hold of the card, lest it go and put on a demonstration, "Keep finding it in some different spot than where I put it, ya know? Everytime I go to sleep. Troublesome little thing. Takes about an hour outta my mornin' trackin' it down."
Was it just his imagination, or did that card just rumble in his hand? He stared blankly down at it, opening up his closed hand to stare at it. Nope. It seemed normal. No jumpin' around. Never seemed to do so when he was watching.
"But more importantly... what the hell's a binky?"

"They do have a tendancy to do that." Tenshi said, before looking to Sesshomaru.
"Took me for damn ever to find him the day he finally came out." She smirked, Sesshomaru leered. He had great distain towards the thought that he was ever a child, let alone trapped inside his sword.
Tenshi tilted her head at the question, before she dug inside one of the bags and pulled it out. It was a small plastic circle with a rubber sucker on the end, with a ring on the opposite side.
"Some people call them pacifiers. You put it in the kids mouth and it shuts them up for a few hours."

"Well, lord knows that's goin' to be handy. Ain't yet found a kid who isnt' a screamer." Nathan smiled a bit at that, even giving the dour little Sesshomaru a glance.
"Bet he was a real cry baby."
Ah, another thought. He gave Tenshi another little embarressed smile, and out it came.
"Now these kids ain't going to have some magical doom up their sleeves or anything right? Not going to have to worry about them burnin' down the house or anything."

Tenshi looked over to Sesshomaru at that question, before letting out a nervous breath of a laugh.
"Well... That's entirely up to the child. When Sesshomaru said his first word we also had the unpleasantry of watching him nearly scald a guys face off with acid.. So I'd be careful just incase if I where you." She explained. Sesshomaru smirked and lifted up his last good hand, before toxic venom began to cause green steam to sizzle and rise into the air.
"He wasn't a cryer.. He was a biter." Tenshi said, remembering the not-so-happy memories of having to wear long sleeved shirts on summer days just to prevent his sharp demon teeth from ripping her to shreds. Sesshomaru only grinned.

"Wonderful... hell with my luck he'd probably go and burn the face off my CO."
Nathan rolled his eyes at that, though a faint smile came to him, imagining Mister Decker getting scorched by a baby.
Shaking his head, filing away that happy little daydream for when the drills got really tough, he hobbled his way over towards Tenshi.
"Any other last bits of wisdom? Somethin' I ain't gonna find in a book, or in that profile on the kid?"

"We really know anything about the child accept that a child is inside there. So I'm afraid I can't give you anymore warnings. Just prepair for the worst. Some kids are normal, some kids aren't. And if you're ever in doubt, call the center. For as many children as I've raised, I really don't have that many great tips on how to rear them. It's mostly common sense and instinct." she then looked him over.
"Although if you're still in a body cast by the time he comes around, I might suggest getting a babysitter."

"Ah hell, I'm plenty mobile still. I'll tough it out," he gave the woman a big, toothy grin, flashing bravado at her. He took up the card in hand, holding it between Finger and Thumb out towards Tenshi.
He nodded, "Think you got volunteered for baby sittin', if I need it. Seems to like you."
How he knew that? Hell, he didn't know. Just a hunch.
"Well, don't want to be keepin' ya here too long. Think I'm all set. Good luck."
He hobbled back towards the door, opening it up for Tenshi and Child. Not that he wanted them to go... but there was a lot to do, and very little time before this kid hatched.

"You've got my number, if you need a babysitter just give me a call.. I know a handful of people who are good with children and owe me favors." She grinned, sounding almost like a mafia father. Owed her favors eh? For what dirty deeds, a curious mind might wonder. But who knew if this Nathan as curios or not.
"Yes, you have a good day. And don't hesitate to contact us if you have any problems." She said, letting Sesshomaru leave the building first.
"Also, once he comes out, feel free to bring him by the center. Other children stop by frequently, and it's a good way to socialize them and help them make friends who are in the same boat as them." She explained, and then bowed.
"Ja ne." She finished, before leading her eldest off to do other things.
