I figured I'd put something together that doesn't consist of "Ewww" or "Yucky" or anything else that shows the person behind the avatar is a child. That may be harsh, but immaturity like that makes me not want to read the entirety of the post. neutral

Now as should be obvious, Cybering is not permitted on this site. The reason why we are all here is to try and clean up the forums, game rooms, and anywhere else on GaiaOnline that has cybering going on. That does NOT mean that we go and bully people. That is harassment, abuse, and flaming. You can and will have your account warned and/or banned for such actions. A person cybering is not permabanned right off the bat. They get a warning first. Then a ban (either a 14day or a perma). So don't think that you can skate off with a warning and they're gone for good. They could simply just get warned, too.
Also, when you report someone in say...Towns, the moderators have a log of EVERYTHING in that chat, not just what the person you reported did. Let's say that you reported some guy attempting to cyber with you. However, you say before having reported them: "I'm going to report you, you stupid waste of flesh and space." The mods would see that and warn/ban you for flaming. You would be no better than the person who tried to cyber.

Now then, let's see how things should be handled.

Forum Reporting

Let's say you walk into Barton Town and find a new thread. It's only three pages long. The first post states in the rules "Plz keep it PG-16." It also states "take cybering to PMs." You should report the thread and state that the first post both states for cybering to be taken to PMs and that the thread creator sets the content rating at PG-16. Thread creators cannot change the content rating of the site to anything over PG-13. They can say PG-10 if they want, and it'll be alright. But PG-14 and over is NOT permitted.
Now, the same example as above but they have those stated in another post. Say...the third post of the thread. You do NOT report the thread. You report the post itself. The thread is not at fault. Only that post.

That is the easiest. It really doesn't matter how many pages the thread has if all the violation is is a content rating mishap or "take cybering to PMs/IMs/elsewhere."

Now, let's take that same 3 page thread. It has neither a content rating or a "take cybering to _______." That might be alright to go to the next thread, yeah? Well, it would be good to check it. Say you find on the second and third page, groping and fondling. If it's only one or two posts, report the posts. However, if the thread creator is engaging or the entirety of the posts involve such activity, THEN report the thread.
If the thread is 30+ pages, just report the posts - unless of course the thread creator is engaging in the acts. 3nodding

For all of the above, do NOT state within the thread that you're reporting the person(s), post(s), or thread. You can get warned for that. And if you've been warned in the past, you can even be banned for it. It can be considered trolling (Warning, 14 day, perma is how the warn-ban system works for Trolling) by doing things like that.

GGN Reporting

GGNs are much harder to deal with than threads in the forums. More often than not, you are going to have to report the problem to a crew member or the captain. It is THEIR job to clean up the guild. Only every now and then do you report the guild itself so a moderator can take care of it. Let's go over those instances, now shall we?

You've come across a user in a GGN guild that is attempting to cyber with another user. If neither of them are crew members, it is your job to report them to the crew. Try to choose someone currently online. If the user trying to initiate the cybering is a crew member, then the only choice you have is to report to the captain. Finally, if it's the captain (either doing it or encouraging it), then you report the guild itself.

Also, if the captain has listed rules down that encourage cybering (whether within the guild itself, in PMs, IMs, or anywhere at all) and/or sets the content rating at anything above PG-13, then you should report the guild. 3nodding

Towns Reporting

When dealing with users attempting to cyber with you in Towns, just report the person. Do NOT respond to him/her. After having reported the person, open the directory and go somewhere else or leave Towns altogether to prevent further harassment from the user. It might also be good to ignore the person.
Saying anything inflammatory, abusive, or harassing to the user (or anyone else for that matter) can result in actions being taken against your account as well. Do keep that in mind. 3nodding

Games Reporting

This is much the same as reporting in Towns. If someone enters the chat room and attempts to cyber, just report them. If you enter a room with cybering within, report the room. Do not state anything.

Private Messages

This is to address two things.

One, when you receive PMs from people trying to solicit cybering. Do not respond. Just report the PM. Simple, yes?

Two, it is highly discouraged to PM anyone stating that you're reporting them. Do not do this. You can be reported for harassment.

As a final note, though I do support the removal of any and all content that breaches the PG-13 limit, I do not support children on this site. Gaia is not a child-friendly site. Any person that is not at least 13 years of age does NOT belong here. And they can be reported for it to have their account locked until they are 13 years of age.
