just think about it. she wasn't born with powers, but she was born with the transformation(going to happen) but through that transformation, she gets more powers that she wasn't born with. i suck at explaining things!

I get confused when i read your confusion hahaha. but now i get it.
Ok. Starfire has unnatural powers, she was an experiment..bla bla bla...maybe the transformation was a result of the experiment, a reaction that provokes her to change and become more powerful.She also is in a new environment; the Earth... do you get it? Please answer....

DaniBoi66 well it was like starfire in her teen years like our teen some of us get acne have growth spurts and all starfire..gets stronger power thats the kind of puberty I want to go through. Does anyone know how old the titans are supposed to be.

blueangel326 I think they're not old enough to drive yet so anywhere from 14-16? Maybe ninja Cyborg can drive a car and Robin can drive a motorcycle (but I doubt they have to pay attention to traffic laws). Also in alot of places you get your license when your 16. My guess would be 16 or 17

The Psions did do all that experimental stuff on Star and Blackfire. I don't remember exactly but aren't Psions the aliens that were chasing Star in "Go"?
In "Switched" Starfire says something along the lines of how even babies on Tamaran can experience the joy of flight but Raven can because she is an angst ridden teen. This makes me think that flight is a natural part of Tamaranians.
I may again be mistaken but I don't remember any other Tameranians using Starbolts except Starfire and Blackfire.
The whole Chrysalis (sp?) thing is confusing though because it gave her stronger starbolts ( From her eyes!!!!)
Also star gets her power from the sun, like Sups. Except Superman never wore a Lady Gaga costume claiming that he needed to reveal his skin to the sun. (if you don't get this watch Lady Gaga's Poker Face and compare her outfits to Starfire's costume in the comics) rofl
Bottom line Starfire is just a freak. I'm actually more confused about why every other Tamaranian speaks perfect english when she's the one living on Earth. Oh wait she learned from Americans so of course the language will be butchered.
Deleted scene from "Betrothed": the titans arrive on Tamaran and have to make out with every Tamaranian on the Planet. heart heart heart heart heart heart heart heart You know for the sake of ... knowledge... and nookie xd
