I hadn't heard of "MOT" either. Sounds interesting.
In my high school theatre (among us hardcore thespians) to either curse or thank "Thespis", who we considered the "god" of theatre. So if something went well, we thank, something bad (like smacking your forehead into 1st electric while going through lines) you curse him...
Seemed simple enough to us. Besides it gave us a common "religion". We had wiccans, satanists, atheists, and agnostics in the department..I think even one was a Christian, but don't quote me on it. Lol
