This is a little late in coming, but hey, I'm new.
I'm aspiring to be a mangaka - in so much as an American can be one.
I'm also teaching a manga drawing class with eight kids who are aspiring to be mangakas as well.
It's actually possible to become a mangaka in the U.S. Tokyopop actually hires artists right and left from all over, plus there are other ways to become one too if you can find away to get your stuff published. Glad to here theres someone else from the Rangers that's working toward it!
