As they walked back to the house Noah heard voices. The sensible part of him made him stop and listen, in case it was strangers. Gradually he was able to make out the voices, he turned to Alex and said calmly. "the others are back"

"Wonderful!" Alex said excitedly. "It'll be nice to see everybody again, just like it was before," she smiled crookedly. Within three steps forward though, she tripped on a root. "Ooof," she said as she hit the ground.

Noah lifted her up carefully "Are you alright?" he asked. He sat her on his shoulder. "You'll need to learn to take care," he said, half hiding a slight laugh as he walked towards the house.

"Maybe its the shock of the sudden memory burst" Noah guessed as he finally reached the back door, placing Alex down he walked in. "Well where are the hideous monsters of this haunted house" he said jokingly, referring to the others. "We've got the hapless hero and the maiden fair right here".
