Yesiree, I'm planning to bring back the Help Desk! Here are what I've got planned. Agree? Disagree?
1. Like all other newbie help guilds, we will go out to the Welcome to Gaia forum (and possibly Q&A) and bring the help to them.
2. Our crew members will serve as "scouts" and go out to look for users who are dedicated to helping newbies in a kind and respectful way. We do not want members who help newbies in one thread and go on an all-out flamefest in another.
3. We will keep the guild public, unlike previously planned. Should a newbie have a question during a time the member helping them is offline, the newbie could post their question here and get other members to answer.
4. Unlike G-Angels (which inspired me to create this guild), we will not test members wanting to join. Instead, our scouts will watch them for a day or two and see if they are worthy of an invite.
Have other suggestions? Please voice out! I want this place to be a comfortable place for both new and old members.

I think we should also keep CaP Central open just in case people need a hangout place away from the main forums. ^_^

That banner about drinking made me giggle. I needed that since my end/begining of the week has been turned to poo because of an evil hacker. made a journal to help new and old members able to id scams and hackings.

Why don't you hold a Newbie Gveaway or Contest outside of the guild to get some attention. I can donate some of next month's sealeds and maybe some gold to the cause. A giveaway/contest will one help the newbies monetarily and two it will get some advertisement for the guild. I mean heck we could have a referal contest or maybe require the participants to put a link to the guild in their sig.
The worse that could happen is that it doesn't work and we loose a few sealeds to some greatful happy newbs.

True. I normally help new people when it comes to hacks and scams since I experianced that myself. Now I'm always keeping an eye out for those new scams and I've actually have gotten alot of complements for it. Don't care if I get complemented about it as long as I help somebody protect themselves rom falling into a trap.

I like those ideas. Feel free to start it up when you feel like it.
I'm planning to re-make the Newbie's Guide to Gaia. It hasn't been updated in 10 months (based on the topic title) and I wanna make sure newbies have an updated guide to read. If anyone wants to help out with this, let me know. I can use all the help I can get!
As for the guild, use it in anyway you want. I still do want to revive it, but I never had the time as of late. I do have a lot of time now, though.
Edit: Tassy and I sent a ton of items to the mule account to prepare for a holiday giveaway. Start and end times are still being planned. ^_^
