I just realized something. If the Kiras are killing off criminals at such a phenomenal rate including criminals in prisons, wouldn't the prisons get empty?
And plus because everyone fears Kira, no one dares to commit any crimes. That means, there aren't anyone to fill up the prisons after everyone dies in them.
So what happens to the prisons?

good question...
But I doubt they would get empty that quickly. I mean it's true that criminal rates have dropped and people are being cautious and not pulling anything off, but that doesn't mean there aren't still people going againts the law. I think the prisions would still be running, they'd just have extra cells, that's all...

Yeah, i think they wouldn't get empty so quick, 'cause there are always criminals there... Think of the old buddies, who've been in a prison for 20 years and doing nothing and so on... Kira don't know their names so at least there are the old prisoners.

Yeah, that didn't really make sense to me either. It seems like Light has an endless supply of criminals to kill off. I mean sure, they wouldn't all be gone, but I don't think there should be that many in there. Then again, he's not just killing people in Japan. He's killing people from the USA and some other countries too.

And he also focuses on Japanese prisons, so the Japanese prisons should be empty by now. =P And about the "he doesn't know the names": After a few months of judgement, people began feeding names to him via the internet remember? I'm sure after so many years, he'd get moles from the inside.

Funny, I always though Kira killed more. Well Light himself didn't kill too much. His workers killed alot though.

Well, He only kills People who have sinned, so, just because We think it is wrong, dosent mean it is.
