Hey, I've got a friend who's trying to get into Violin, but can't easily get lessons... Any suggestions to help the guy out? He wants to do Yellowcard-style stuff eventually.

I'm not really sure how to help but maybe look into local teachers and maybe at music shops.

well id say he should get a couple of lesson books and try to teach himself if lessons arent available. also theres alot of stuf on the internet im sure he could find something there.

also yellowcard ruined the violin. i think it best compares to sax players and kenny G. people are always making yellowcard references wen i play violin.

Probably because it's the only violin anyone who listens only to mainstream music has really heard. There's a good local band here in Sacramento called Las Pesadillas that does the whole violin thing a lot better, too. Anywhich, is there any particular lesson book or website that you found helpful?
