Is it in every thread that we're supposed to donate to the person above us? Or only in threads that say so specifically?

No, only the Donate to the Person Above You! (in the guild), Neopoles ManyThings Thread, and Xiasiu's Very Own Donaty Thread (min.50g). But I'm not completely sure... sweatdrop
