I find this thread educational. Maybe I should stick around considering I know absolutely no Japanese words or phrases except those common words like nani and baka.

Batsu Game... twisted (spelled it by ear) ~Higurashi no Naku Koro ni~

Punishment game... often related to games like spin the bottle, rock, paper, scissors, and truth or dare where the winner picks out a task the losers must perform that is humiliating, challenging or just odd.

You know I havn't even finished that the first season. I was kinda dispointed that the second answer arc didn't feature the first question arc.

The last arc is the answer to the first arc... That anime had one of the best endings I have seen in a while... There wasn't a real downside to it.

You mean the one where Rena kills that woman and her boyfriend for trying to hustler her dad, or the one that will be shown in season two?

Is is best to white that stuff out... but yeah. I think that was the arc that reveals a few different things and how they really happened... I have watched the show three times but I tended to skip around quite a bit. I am not the type of person that enjoys torture/gor but I do enjoy the really deep story and decoding all the puzzles.

****Spoiler****
Like the fact that Mion had a marker not a needle in the end of episode four and Rena tried to hug Keiichi to calm him down when he snapped but he attacked her for it... Keiichi was just so paranoid that he was seeing everything as a threat and not as what it really was.
