"DAAADDDYYYYYY" The wail was almost earsplitting, causing Riddick's ears to twitch backward as hard he attempted to stop the motion. of course, it wasn't as if she could even see it. He glanced behind him to the little girl following him, paws out to pat the way before her. It was sunset, and he'd forced her to get up and come to the feli house with him--she'd only slept all day.
This was the fire bundle that had burnt him so badly. The child that he'd just known would hate him.. had won him over with one glance of her nearly invisible eyes. He loved all of his children, of course, but there was something special about Jack, and not just because of her name. Three of the four kits eyes had been affected by his own, at least in look, but she seemed to be the worst off thus far. He'd thought, for one chilling second, that she was blind... that wasn't true, however. Instead, she was more like him than he'd thought the little firebug could possibly be.
There had to be something he could give her to help... Riddick looked about at the sunlight, and sighed. In a moment his goggles were off and he carefully put them about Jack's head. They were a bit big for her, but they blocked out most of the light.
"h-huh?" She looked up through the lenses to see her dad squinting down at her. Somehow Riddick's expression still managed to be serious and dominating despite the fact that he was squinting against the light and... being all fatherly. She smiled and bounced along side him as he turned to continue the walk to the feli house. Bouncing dislodged the carefully teetering goggles, however, and she had to calm down to plod beside him in order to keep them on. "Thank you daddy."
"Perhaps we should dig the gal up a pair of her own, wot?" Xanatos pitched in, moving in on his father's right. He raised his wings a little to block some of the light from Riddick's face. The older male gave a grateful nod to his oldest son and chuckled, "I've been trying to find another pair. they're not easy to come by."
"If you need them you can have them, daddy, i don't mind! I can tough it out!" Jack insisted. She stumbled a little on her sweater, but pulled it up and plowed ahead. The look she fastened on her father was no less than hero-worship.. which was fine, if a little frightening for the ex-con. It also touched a deep part of him, the newly, truly formed 'fatherly' side of him. Kala had started it, and now these three had finished it off. They were going to be the death of him, weren't they?
"No, precious, you keep the goggles."
"Okay." She bore the proudly, grinning a little as she viewed the world through her 'father's eyes'. "I look like Daddy don't I, Xan?"
"You sure do, Jackie-o." Xanatos chuckled softly. Finally, as the last rays of sunlight hit the sides of the feli house the three climbed up the steps. Jack stopped there, standing at the top of the stairs as she watched the sun fade from the world through the darkened lenses.
"Is mommy coming soon?"
"She said she would meet us here.. so she will," Riddick replied, curling up near her. "Be careful around the edge, Jack."
"Yes, Daddy."

"I'm not coming."
"You bloody well are; I've had it up to here with your mopping around and blasting on that god damned piano - I couldn't SLEEP last night," as Tomoko walked, she was dragging along a dark figure, whom seemed to be laying down limply on the floor, content to allow the female to drag him right along, "Erik, you're getting your clothes dirty! Get UP!"
"Don't care. And I'm not getting up. If you don't want to drag me, LET GO of me and I'll happily return back home, to my haven," the words were drawled as he was dragged along by his tail. There was a pause during which the female stopped padding forth, but it lasted a mere moment before she flattened her ears and stormed forth, still dragging the male's languid form behind her.
Beside her, padding vividly, and looking torn between being amused and slightly concerned (mostly for his own safety - after all, a mad Tomoko meant a mad Riddick asking him what he'd done to set of 'mother' this time), was Brick. Atop his head, laying rather languidly was a small black kit, her heavy lidded red eyes, staring back at Erik as the went along, "Are you planning on dragging him to the picnic-" he never got to finish his question for no sooner those few words had gotten out of his mouth, his 'mother' turned to aim a glare of utter doom at him, "Then again, nevermind!" the words were chirped as the red male winced slightly to the side, his head ducking a mere inch away.
"...." Night, still languidly sprawled over her brother's head, seemed to have nothing of interest to add to the current conversation and merely lay atop the red cap effortlessly. She seemed to be emotionless, no smile ever coming upon her maw, no movement of her facial muscles. That is, till soon enough in the distance she was able to notice her father and other sibling. Chewing ever so softly on Brick's ear, she murred at him, something between a purr and a growl.
Red eyes lifted to try and look at the small kit on his head, failing miserably, however, her small paw soon outstretched from it's limp state and pawed at his nose before pointing forward, "Oh!" smirking, the male picked up his pace and dived to tackled for Xan and Jack, because... well, that's just the way Brick was, "RAWR!" he aimed to pin the larger seraph down, attempting to grab jack's tail with a hind foot in the process, "Bet'cha didn't see that one coming!!" a pause before he eyed Riddick and smiled up at him; it wasn't a smirk, but rather ... a plain smile, which was rare.
Meanwhile, Night had taken that opportunity to slid effortlessly off Brick's back and land absolutely silently on the floor. Her movements were fluid, full of feline grace, yet there seemed to be a languidness to them as she moved and rested herself between her father's front legs. No words were uttered, but once she arrived, and shortly after glancing towards Brick, she closed her eyes and leaned her head against her father's front legs. Long tail curled around herself as she murred softly.
"Riddick!" the word was said with urgency, half growled, half purred, her mouth still full from grabbing onto Erik's tail and dragging the male along, whom still seemed rather content with... allowing this, "PLEASE!" there was still an urgent tinge to her voice, but nothing else was said; please knock some sense into him? PLEASE tell me what the hell is WRONG with him! PLEASE JUST DO SOMETHING ANYTHING!
Every single thought was seeped into the single word was she finally arrived and settled by her mate, dropping the Phantom's tail on the floor.
Sneering, with his head still leaned on the floor, Erik rolled his blue eye towards them; he couldn't see through it well, but it didn't matter, "Can I go now?"
"STAY!"
"...." the same eyes was rolled before he allowed himself to stare limply up ahead instead, "Women..." he needed bath. And he needed some food. And really, he needed ... well, right about now, he also needed a new life, please and thank you.

"UUAAHHHH!" Xanatos certainly wasn't expecting to be glomped by his... 'brother'. Or anyone, for that matter. He went down almost immediately and completely without fuss, the bells on his collar and tail cuff jingling in the evening air. "Er.. Lovely way to greet someone, wot? Practically through my back out I'd say." Xanatos chuckled lightly to himself and shook his head, pawing at Brick's chest to get him to move. He did stop, however, when he realized their little sister was attacking Brick's paw.Jack did not appreciate having her tail pulled upon. In fact, when she felt herself sliding back, her eyes opened wide and head jerked... sending the goggles slidding off of her tiny little head. The female yowled, though it wasn't as bad as it could have been, and turned, eyes shut, to try and bite down on Brick's paw. She opened her eyes a meer slit after that, angry little glowing white eyes in the fading light and let out a warning 'mur.'"BRICK!" Riddick shouted, when his daughter's first cry went up. He choked it off, however, upon seeing the retaliation... it seemed as if Jack were quite capable of fighting her own battles. He still sighed, however, and shook his head as his other daughter curled up to his paws. Smiling, Riddick moved one paw to place around Night's slender little form and hug her closer. He petted her back lightly, absently, as his mate's cries for help perked his ears up. What was this then? Riddick arched an eyebrow at the other male Tomoko was dragging along with her. He didn't recognize him, but somehow the male seemed familiar.. Likely something Tomoko or one of the kids had said before. Either way, there was something going on here. Still, the male couldn't help the lightest of chuckles at Tomoko ordering this one about. It was one of the things he actually loved about her; how strong and willed she was. "What's all this then?" "Oh, him?" A haughty sort of voice asked from behind them. Riddick's ear twitched lightly. He'd never gotten along well with his 'neice', indeed he felt that the female needed to be taken down a few pegs, and yet not even he had managed to do so yet. Going along with this, he didn't even bother turning his head as Franklin made her way out of the Feli Flap to stop near Xanatos's head. For his part, the seraphim seemed positivly joyous. Franklin had been a teacher to him during his kit-hood, and still remained ... as much of a friend as she was ever likely to have. Riddick tried not to glower at that, and yet he couldn't help but be intrigued at her smug sort of expression. "Should I even ask?" He asked in an exasperated tone as he leaned in to nuzzle his frazzled mate's shoulder. "Its nothing world-ending. He's just angsting over the last of his stalker-tendencies... Arn't you, Erik?"

Snorting quite loudly, Brick did indeed let go of the tiny female's tail, releasing his hind foot from it; had she come close to snapping at his shoe, he'd have probably kicked at her with it out of reflex, "Oh, bite me, Jack," the words were snorted before he removed his weight from Xanatos' poor back, giving the seraph a small nibble upon his ear as he went, "Someone needs to learn to loosen up; what's wrong with those kits anyhow?"
As if emphasise whatever it was Brick had said, Night slowly opened her maw wide, revealing tiny teeth as she yawned silently, closing it once she was done. Blinking slightly, she turned her head languidly towards her brother, "Loud..." the word was said softly, in a deadpan voice, "Noisy..." yet again, however, her eyes betrayed the fact she seemed bemused by the sudden happenings. Giving her father's arms final nuzzle and a lick, she slowly moved her frame to sit down by Jack. Unlike Brick, she didn't touch her, but rather, sat in front of her soundlessly for a good minute before sliding to a laying position by her side, rubbing her head effortlessly against her in one fluid motion. She seemed to have blocked out all what was happening around her.
In fact, it was as if the small black kit did just that 90% of the time; she blocked out her surroundings and focused on a single thing.
"He keeps MOPING ABOUT! That's what!! And him 'drowning his pain on the bloody piano' is no better! He slammed on that damned thing till 8-bloody-am in the morning! HE STARTED AT 9PM IN THE NIGHT!" she'd released Erik's tail by then, pulling at her own eyes as she dragged her paws down her face. musingly enough it was easy to notice she was annoyed; her pelt seemed to practically sizzle and crackle as she moved, burning a few blades of grass at her feet before she paused and took in a few deep breaths, letting them out in turn, obviously trying to calm herself down, "Erik, Riddick, Riddick, Erik," this said, she glared the male that wa still on the floor, receiving a glare right back from him, however, his ears did lower, causing the female to smirk in triumph.
Mumbling to himself, the phantom looked away, glaring at an innocent ant that happened to be crawling up the rock his eyes... could barely just see out the corner of his vision. It was hard to glare at something he practically couldn't see, but still he tried; not only that, but the sun was getting in his eyes. He shouldn't be out. WHY WAS HE OUTSIDE?!
As if reading his thoughts, the fire female sat herself on his tail, glaring down at him before turning to nuzzle his mate's head, "Remember I told you that before you arrived I had the un-official role of .... taking care of all the feli my human obtained one way or another? Well, Erik arrived as a bundle, no idea how, don't care either. I was the one that raised him. Sort of," she glared down at him, causing him to offer her a sour face, his ears flattening back, "He had a nasty tendency to slip away during the night; he drove me up the bloody walls; why do you think I forced mewtwo on him?" a sneer at this point, "Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth; he raised Mewtwo."
"You just wanted revenge..." grumbles at this point, a pause followed as Franklin appear, followed by clear groan as Erik rolled his eyes again and looked away, his expression turning more sour if possible, "Not YOU again; what, run out of books to red and you've come to hunt down some poor mice to read their insides or something?"
Instantly Brick snigger; that was amusing. After all, it'd been the first thing the dark feli had said that was actually interesting, all day. No sooner than Brick sniggered, that Tomoko gasped slightly and smacked Erik with her foot, "What was that all about?!" true that he'd been hell to raise, but she'd never seen him been quite ... rude, at least not entirely or bluntly. Turning to Franklin, she arched a brow, "Do elaborate, please."
Swiftly the phantom was on his feet, "No, no, don't. Actually, no," a pause, "Please." another pause, "Can I just go, 'Moko?"
"You're STAYING."
A sigh followed the statement as he flopped his head forward, his ears following suit. He looked like hell, really.
Amusing to note was the fact Night had slipped her red hued gaze from her sister to the ongoings of the group beside, "Loud...." the word was whispered to Jack, or rather, said. Her voice was always a whisper, it seemed.

"Yes, do go on," Riddick tried not to roll his uncovered eyes--he couldn't hide the expression behind the safety of goggles. Safety, of course, meaning that his mate wouldn't have the reason to singe him for doing so. In reality, he wasn't interested in what Franklin may or may not have done, instead wishing she'd get out of there so he could spend some time with his family. Perhaps this would help, though, if she'd take Eric away.
Franklin's strange blue eyes seemed to dart towards brick for a moment (though it was hard to tell, truly) in question of perhaps who he was, or on what right did he open his mouth in this conversation. To her credit she didn't ask, and instead returned to the original conversation. The smile she gave to Tomoko was a pleasant one and yet sent the slightest of shivers down Riddick's spine, "He found out some things about the preference of his would-have-been girlfriend, and is still attempting to hide in denial off it. Rather pathetic, really, but he's never been much else."
"That isn't very nice," Xanatos said softly as he climbed to his feet behind Franklin. She turned her head slightly towards him and offered him the lightest hint of a shrug. He shook his head, sending the bell on his neck jingling, and sat down beside her. "Mr. Eric is going through a tough time right now, Miss Franklin. Teasing him so is cruel."
"Cruel?" She laughed, "hardly. If I were cruel I would have drawn pictures."
Riddick couldn't help a soft chuckle at that. He thought the female was annoying, sure... but she did have quite the evil genius on her and he'd always admired that. The male rolled his eyes and waited to see what Erik would say to this before he bothered to jump in.
"Yeh, they are," Jack agreed. She rolled over on top of her sister and began to nibble her ear. Night was a wonderful sibling, really. She never fussed or created too much of a stir... Jack began to purr softly, ignoring the adults as she groomed the silent one.

The phantom looked up at Tomoko, pointing off towards the house with one paw, "Can I go now?" for some odd reason, best unknown probably, he seemed rather relieved after Franklin's tirade. In fact, he looked more than relieved, almost as if happy that whatever it was he was hiding was still safe and sound. Not even the bait of the drawings seemed to rouse his curiosity or temper, instead his ears flopped back in an attempt to look pathetic. He seemed extremely unpreocupied by what was going on; Either what Franklin was saying wasn't .... what was truthfully bothering the male, or he wasn't showing it.
A pause followed by Tomoko rolling her eyes, "Fine, FINE! Leave! But Erik, I'm warning you; if you wake me up with that blasted piano tonight, I'm going to rip your insides right open to let the stupid morning birds feast on you!" the words were growled loudly, however, despite the threat, Erik knew it wasn't for real.
His ears perked instantly as he rushed past Tomoko, leaning in to kiss her front paw like a gentleman, having pushed himself up on his hind feet, "Got it, BYE!" this said, he rushed for the front door, seemingly pausing, as if hesitating as he reached it, looking over his shoulder. Another pause before he backpedalled, and used a hind foot to step FORCEFULY on Frank's tail, his ears pulling back against his neck, offering her something between a glare and a leer. This done he seemed to linger just a second, enough for his eyes to issue the silent dare for her to follow him before he dived into the house through the feli flap.
Watching the scene, Brick arched a brow, "What the f-" a pause as he rectified himself half sentence, "Hell was that about?" and here he thought he was one of the partially insane? Turns out his sanity was rather much intact, compared to that of some other feli around here. Turning his gaze towards his 'parents', he paused slightly before padding towards Howl and Jack, "So," he called over his shoulder at Riddick, "About that picnic we were gonna have before we were so bloody rudely interrupted by weirdos?" look at that! If it ain't the kettle calling the pot black!
Howl's ear twitched every now and again as her sister began to nibble on it, but otherwise, she remain rather silently unmoving, turning her head once during the others' conversation to purr softly and nuzzle Jack's head, "Food..." the word was said slightly louder than was the usual for her, heavy lidded eyes turning to look up at her parents, obviously indicating she was indeed, hungry and she's appreciate it if they would in fact, feed her. Because Jack's paw was not something she could devour. Even though she was doing a good job at slobbering it.
"Fine, fine," giving her mate a short nuzzle, Tomoko turned and headed for the woods, her tail coming to brush against Jack's side as she padded by both kits, "Let's just go," turning to glance over her shoulder, she addressed Xanatos, "Xan, love, make sure Brick doesn't do anything stupid till we at least get there."
"Hey!! Stupid like what?!"
"Like climb a tree and try to fly, only managing to crash."
"...THAT was an ACCIDENT!" a pout from the red clad feli as he walked after his 'mother', "It's not MY Fault I can't fly!" turning to Riddick, he frowned, "Can YOU fly?"

Franklin screeched at the stomped on her tail. Watery eyes narrowing, She followed it with a bellow, "ERIC!!!" With a hiss, she'd jumped up and chased him through the feli flap and into the house.
Riddick snickered, shaking his head as he got up to follow his family elsewhere. "If i didn't know any better... not that I do, I'd say that was more than a little like a school-yard crush." He shared a look with his mate, who he'd fought with in such a way not too long ago, and returned the nuzzle before he nudged his daughters into moving their butts.
Hearing Brick's question, one ear turned towards him. He didn't know how to fly yet? Riddick smirked. "Yes, I do. Not terribly difficult to figure out." And it wasn't... for him. Of course, he'd been good at most any physical activity he'd ever tried.... but that was a different story; long, long ago.
The dark one shook his head even as Xanatos sidled up his mother. "How.. how would I stop him?" He all but whispered into her ear. Xanatos was still a little estranged by having Brick about; the bundles, at least, had been introduced in a normal sort of manner. "He's a touch bigger than me, wot."
"Provide entertainment," Riddick answered helpfully with a smirk. Jack giggled nearby, having gotten up with the others to walk into the woods. She still had Riddick's goggles, though the sun was finally down and she didn't need them any longer. They tucked about her back, instead, the sleeves of her sweater trying to trip her as much as the buckle of his goggles.
Seeing that, Riddick paused to catch her by them. "Hey!" She protested, but he took the lenses back and settled them around his own head. "You're gonna scratch them, Jackie."

The whole 'flying' business flew out the proverbial window as Riddick spoke the word 'crush'. Instantly, Brick's ears perked at the voice, his eyes trailing after his father, "Crush? As in .... he fell outta a tree and crushed?" he didn't think he was all that familiar with that particular word; another pause followed as he turned his head to stare at the house they were leaving behind, "School-yard? Aren't they adults though?" turning to catch up with his parents, the red feli walked up ahead, then turned to do so backwards; so that he'd be able to see both Tomoko and Riddick whilst doing so, obviously not looking where he was going, "Where I come from, only kids go to school; unless you were a teacher," not like he'd ever gone to school though; there hadn't been an army back then large enough to force him and his brothers to go to school.
It showed too, what with the way he suddenly tripped, eyes going large before falling back, his mother smirking as she jumped neatly over him.
"Hardly," she murmured, "Adults aren't prone to childish behavior..." the last few words were almost whispered as she rolled her eyes, then again, watching certain feli and scenes sure as hell brought back memories, "Crush, huh," she looked over her shoulder as Brick scrambled up to follow again, "Sure brings back memories, doesn't it, Riddick?" she'd sure as hell caught that leer he'd sent her way as he'd spoken those words, "Sweet, sweet memories."
"...I don't get it," Brick felt like he was missing out on some big joke as he flattened his ears against the top of his head. Deciding to drop it for the time being (somehow, he felt the conversation would end up aimed towards him if they continued down that train of thought), the dark feli bumped himself against Riddick's larger side, brushing his own against him, much resembling a domestic cat for a moment, "Teach me then! I can't stay airborne for long; I keep on crashing! And it's so bloody frustrating! I was used to being able to fly before I got here!" then again, he'd also been used to shooting lasers out of his eyes too... and somehow, Brick thought that mentioning this would never turn out in his favour. Amusingly enough, he'd said a couple of things that seemed to hint at something unusual.
Tomoko however, seemed utterly oblivious to this and padded onward; after all, she'd been born within the feli house, and had never known anything but the Felis' society. Turning her head towards Xanatos, she grinned and winked, "Oh, I dunno, you could always steal his hat. And the photo he keeps under it; black mail him."
"Hey!" the word was actually 'squeaked' in a rather undignified way, a whine coming around the edges of it as the feli grabbed at his hat, attempting to walk, glare and hold the hat against his head simultaniously.
"See, it'd work, love. Hasn't anyone ever told you that it's not size what matters?" she turned her head to give the seraph a long lick in the face, accompanied by a loud purr, "I'd get into detail, but it's hardly a conversation theme to have while around Jack or Night," she left it at that, however, the mischievous smile she sported as she glanced out the corner of the eye towards her mate, was more than evident.
Watching Jackie and her father, Howl smiled; it was a timid smile, a phantom of the real thing, but it reached her eyes for just a moment before she sprang forth with a sudden bust of energy, sitting herself on the flat end of Riddick's tail. This done, she turned her head and nuzzles Jack a she was dragged past, holding out a paw to grab onto her, intending to drag her right along. Turning a languid gaze at her father, she smiled a second time, this time the effect being much more prolonged, "Hitching a ride," she explained, and that was that.
