Soul watched as she ran ahead and then split into the maintenance hallways. It seemed absolutely odd that it would be open like that. Taking a moment to look back at the now rampaging robots, he noticed that they were pretty much scanning and subsequently exploding things - meaning they were far off, but the shrapnel was still dangerous. Ducking into the security hallway, he took a moment to check the door - the mechanism had been disabled, and it took him until now to realize that the only lights on were emergency lights and the skylights, which was just a crafty way of saying that an EMP had recently gone out and it was only running on a secondary generator. Dashing down the hallway, Soul quickly gathered that Margy was long gone, and it was now up to him to find the Chaos Emerald's location or find Eggman or Sonic.

His stomach turned at the realization that he now depended on Sonic for survival, and if he was right, Sonic depended on him, which in his mind meant that they had to be at the right place, at the right time, and their window of opportunity only about ten seconds when it all went down.

Unaware that she had lost Soul, Margy quickly dashed down another hallway before quickly skidding to a stop and beginning to look around--trying to figure out which way she was supposed to go now. The hallway seemed to go for a while and she couldn't hear the robots as loudly anymore... so it seemed safe--at least for the time being.
"Go where now?" Margy asked curiously, before blinking and glancing behind her. "Soul-kun....quu." the hyperactive hamster gave a bit of a nervous laugh before blinking as she touched her ear a bit later.
"Heke?" Margy questioned curiously as she felt her hand touch something wet, only to find blood on her fingers.
"Blood?? When did...?" she tilted her head to the side and seemed to ponder about how she could have possibly cut her ear. "Oh! Maybe one of the flying rocks did it!" she exclaimed as she slapped her first into her open palm, giving a quick nod as if to confirm her statement.
Once she was aware of where the cut had came from, Margy quickly turned her attention back towards the situation at hand...where to go next.
"Let's see...if Margy was Soul-kun, what would Soul-kun dooo...?" she questioned curiously.
"Explore!" she exclaimed a second later and began to move forward, attempting to figure her way around the back of the casino, hoping to either find her way back to Soul-kun, or find the chaos emerald--or maybe even Sonic.

Soul weaved into an office, only to find it dimly lit by security lights. cursing slightly under his breath, he turned back into the hallway and desperately searched for something to help him. Barreling into another room, he was surprised to see three men in there. They, in turn, were surprised to see a hedgehog in the dark after the power had gone out. "Uh....Whoops." Soul scanned the men's uniforms. Security.

Standing up, the obviously younger of the trio stood up. "Hey, who're you! You're not supposed to be back here!" He said, which galvanized the other two to move towards Soul.

"Oh gorramit... Hey, Eggman's attacking here, I came to uh... warn you to get outta here! Your lives are in dange-ah!" He covered his ears as an explosion took place on the far wall. The robots had apparently been ordered to scan less and blow up more. Where was the G.U.N. when you needed them... Lifting his head up, he could see the silhouette of one of the robots, and took a moment to notice the three guards were now bleeding on the ground - hopefully just knocked out. However much the little voice in the back of his head said to do something brave, brave would be good for someone who could do something about all this. Soul, on the other hand, could not. And he promptly ran like hell down the hallway - the walls provided cover and shrapnel, a double edged sword to be sure, but one he had to put up with as another explosion rocked the building.

Flailing about in the attempt to keep her balance as the building rocked, Margy stumbled forward for a moment before blinking and peering around a corner.
"Shakey Building make Margy all confuzzled--Margy think she right but she may be wrong." she mumbled to herself before beginning to scurry down the hallway once again.
"Metal meanies are getting closeerrr~" Margy lulled out as she continued to way down the hallway, blinking as she peered into another room, which seemed strangely empty at the point.
"Heellloooo?" Margy called out curiously as she peered into the room, blinking curiously as she waited for a response. "...no one home?" the hyperactive hamster questioned and quickly began to inch into the room.
"Straange, no one at all..." Margy stated before glancing up above her, the room was quite large, but she wasn't sure what it was for...it didn't seem very important.
"...if margy was a chaos emerald...Margy'd be...in the way back? Yes no yes?" Margy questioned and continued to explore the room that she had found herself, doing her best to ignore the shaking that was created by the large explosions.
"Don't think this is the way back." She stated a second later and continued to look about the place, several things had been knocked over by the rocking explosions, so the room was a bit of a mess.

"Chaos Emerald, Chaos Emerald... Argh, if only I had come to the event. They would of said something about 'the vault where it was safe' or something along those.... lines... "I am. An idiot." He smacked his head. Then another rumble hit the building. "And... a dead man. Running time..." He muttered as he bolted into the main casino area. The dim lights allowed him to see the tables and slot machines all around. And it let him find the security doors and such a lot faster then the narrow hallways. Looking back, he could see only one bot - peh, only one bot. One bot could kill him in an instant with a rocket. Even so, throwing caution to the wind, Soul moved through the machines and weaved through them in an attempt to make progress. The Vault was probably underneath the casino, which is why Robotnik brought the heavy artillery instead of the machine gun variety. Something he found himself oddly being happy about.

Barreling through a more important looking door made of metal, he was surprised it wasn't guarded by... anyone. Apparently Robotnik made people either run or hide. "And they say there are no more heroes." He muttered as he rushed through the dim halls. These ones had slightly better lights, and Soul noticed details like signs on the wall. One was of a man walking down stairs and an arrow pointing where it was. "Stairs. No elevator. Strange, but I'll take it."

After exploring the room for a few minutes, the hyperactive hamster tapped her finger against her chin as she pondered for a moment, trying to figure out where exactly she was supposed to look now.
"Margy wonder if Soul-kun has found anyway." Margy said to herself and began to move away from the desk that she had been searching through, doing her best not to step on anything. "Cause Margy isn't finding anything---oooh map!" the hyperactive hamster squealed happily as she found herself staring at a small map which was stuck to the wall in plain view. Staring at it for a bit, the hamster quickly realized that the map was layout showing where the nearest fire escapes where--which was helpful, but not the help that she needed.
"Phoo." Margy pouted. "Not a map." she muttered for a bit, before crossing her arms and peering back out the doorway. "Let's see...if Margy was an emerald...the emerald would be somewhere nice and safe." she stated, and blinking a bit more. "Ooh! A safe is safe--but where would a safe be?" she questioned scratching her head curiously.
"Maybe Margy got check up front." she stated and turned to run out of the room, only to skid to the stop as the sound of metal moving reached her ears, but luckily it didn't sound all that far off, so hopefully she could get past them without getting caught...hopefully.
Ducking out of the doorway, the hyperactive hamster quickly began to make her way back towards the front, only stopping long enough to peer into another room, hoping it would give her some kind of clue.

Entering the staircase was not his favorite thing to do. As soon as the door shut behind him, he found himself with a familiar feeling. All encompassing feeling of dread as a blanket of nothingness draped over him. "Oh gorramit, no lights on a staircase." He muttered. Sticking his hands out, he instinctively took a step forward, before switching routs and headed to the left. Stepping forward would lead to falling antics, but the wall would lead him to a railing, and he wouldn't fall.

Hopefully.

"Margy wonder if Soul-kun has gotten anywhere." she mumbled to herself as she curiously looked around, trying to remember what exactly she had been planning to do originally. She knew that she was trying to find the emerald or perhaps Sonic--but she couldn't recall where she was going.
"Let's see--margy found map, but it wasn't real map, then margy left room and decided..." she stated. "Oh! She was gonna go find front, maybe emerald would be there...as well as metal meanies maybe, but it a chance margy have to take."
Speaking to herself for a bit longer, Margy quickly darted out of the room that she had randomly wandered into and began to make her way back towards the front--having no real idea where she was going, especially with the random piece of debri which were scattered about, created when the robots powerful lasers as they set into the casino, following on order--seek and destroy.
"If margy runs into a metal meanie, she just gonna have to improvise." she said with a nod and continued on her way, following the trail of destruction that the robots had left behind.

Soul stubbed his toe on the wall and spent the next fifteen seconds dancing around cursing whatever he could as he shifted along the wall toward the door. Locating it, he fell into another dimly lit hallway. "At least it's got light. Gorram... why do toes hurt so bloody much?" he muttered as he looked down the halls. "Alright. Second floor. Blue hedgehogs, mechanical megalomaniac, and gems of ultimate power. Please watch your freaking step." He muttered as he started jogging down the hallway, hoping against hope to find that Chaos Emerald.

"Margy home free." Margy cheered out happily as she ran into the front of the casino and threw her arms into the air--probably not the smartest thing to do at the point. "And there's no metal meanies to target mar--" the hyperactive hamster was cut off as the sound of beeping suddenly reached her sensitive ears. Blinking for a moment, the hyperactive hamster slowly glanced behind her and gave a nervous laugh as she saw one of the robots slowly walk out of one of the rooms and into view, before starting to scan about--searching for any survivors that it may have missed.
"metal meanie." the hyperactive hamster squeaked out before quickly looking about, attempting to find something to hurl at the robot. Looking about a bit more, Margy ran over towards a destroyed table and quickly picked up three of the four legs.
"Sneaky sneak.." Margy mumbled to herself and peered around the corner, towards the robot--which had yet to notice her. Gripping one of the legs, she slowly lifted it up into the air and prepared to hurl it at the robot, not really thinking about the consequences--not that thinking was her thing.
Pulling her arm back when she was sure that her aim was good, the hyperactive hamster hurled the table leg forward, sending it flying towards the robot--only to have it miss and hit the floor beside it.
"uh-oh..." she squeaked out, and slowly began to inch away--hoping to find another escape route and possible Soul, who probably was having much better luck than she was at the point.
