Okay, so basically I've practiced my rolls, and can get a clean double stroke roll at 140 bpm. If I go any faster than that though, my technique seems to suffer. I was just wondering, when you're rolling at such fast tempos, let's say 160-180 bpm, does technique really matter? I find it much easier to just let the sticks bounce when playing that fast, but I don't want my technique to get screwed up. Thanks.

well, Technique is important no matter how fast your playing. the coach for my line always gets onto the snares when they start to loose it. He always tells them to use their fingers to play fast, not bounce the stick. (you know what i meant right?) now, im no snare, but that seemed to really help them during the faster songs, so they could play fast, and their technique didn't suffer.
