C'mon... We've almost certainly all got that one piece of Sonic merchandise that we either:
1. Want but can't find or afford (pipe dream)
2. Or that somebody just hasn't decided to make yet (fantasy)
I know what mine would be.
1. Pipe dream:
I just loved those SA2 US edition full-sized Rouge plushies. I remember drooling over them at the Sega.com online store when the game first came out. But I hadn't got a credit card back then - and by the time I had, they'd sold out. sad
I've only ever seen one come up for auction, and it sold for $500 - which even after I convert it to my own currency in the current exchange market, I could never afford.
2. Fantasy:
I'm a complete plushie junkie. And as of yet, only one of my three favourite characters (Tails, Cream and Rouge) isn't available in plushie form as anything other than a UFO catcher.
I have a Cream UFO catcher, of course, but wouldn't a full-sized Cream plushie just be cute to snuggle up to? smile
What would your merchandising pipe dream and/or fantasy be?

Out of all the characters out there, Cream'd be the one I want a full-sized plush of, but I'd adore having a Chaos 0 plushie, just because it'd be cute and evil... like a Cthulhu plushie!
I dunno really. As far as Merchandise goes, Sonic is really lacking and there is so much that I want, so little I can get.

What exactly do you mean by "full-size?"
Anyway, PIPE DREAM: There was this awesome Sonic the Hedgehog Crystal Cube Thing which was like plexiglass or something, with a 3-D image of our blue hero inside it. Interesting paperweight/desk decoration, but sadly it was only available in Japan...
FANTASY: Hmmmm... Dr. Eggman duds, his whole suit and everything. XD MUAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!
Or perhaps Sonic sneakers. That would be cool, having those striped red sneaks with the gold buckle on them...

It'd be cool to have the proper sneakers, but they did release his SA2 shoes as "Soap Shoe Scorchers", I used to own a pair before they went missing after I moved out (read: was kicked from home). They were very painful to run in though, the metal bar in the sole did nothing but make you cripple your toes.

Hmmm, this is hard! So much cool stuff XD Okay Pipe Dream would be me getting an entire room of Sonic stuff! (Like a bedspread, curtains, you name it!) with a Sonic wardrobe XD (all the Sonic shirts and apparel it could hold!) and to top it off one of those giant 4 foot tall Sonic plushes XD MWAH! And maybe the Knuckles one too. (I'm such a fan girl, it's sad... isn't it?! blaugh ) And Fantasy... well... I LOVE this idea: Samwise Chubb Keptan Or perhaps Sonic sneakers. That would be cool, having those striped red sneaks with the gold buckle on them... Imagine, your very own Egg-o-Matic hover craft! *hops in* Featuring no-wheel drive, anti-grav brakes, and with full-blown stereo for blasting away those pesky hedgehogs!! (or at least deafening him indefinitely MWAHAHAHA!)

Being an action figure collector, I really wish there were some better Sonic toys. There have been some neat ones, like the ReSaurus Sonic Adventure line. Everything else though, has been pretty crappy to be honest.
I don't know if this fits here, but I'd like Sonic Trade Paper Backs. Most prominent comics compile each story-arc into a TPB. I'd like to see this with Sonic. Actually, what I'd really like to see with the Sonic comic is quality. stare

2. The little E-102 action figure which I can't get my hands on
Fantasy:
1. Absolutely some Sonic trades, though comic size rather than digest
2. Tails fan
3. Just plain ol' character statues (or do these exist?)
4. Oldschool looking Robotnik in his little hover mobile plushies and figures
5+ I really wish there was more E-102 junk, I really liked him. Maybe a little E-102 laser pointer or some more action figures or SOMETHING

Pipe dream: a Saturn with NiGHTS, which i think counts as vaguely Sonic-related. Sonic Jam if it doesn't.
If we're going for none-games, a Robotnik plushie, because the idea amuses me.
Fantasy: hmmm..... an Egg Sentinel model of some description? Alternately, a Chaos 0 plushie... I don't think one exists.

One-shots like Chaos, Emerl and Gamma seem to get a raw deal in the merchandising stakes, don't they? I'm assuming it's because, since they're only going to be around for one game, nobody wants to put any effort into pushing them into the fans' consciousness.
I suppose that should've rang a few alarm bells when Shadow "died" at the end of SA2 That's why I found it hard to believe that Sega'd kill off the 'hog who laid the golden eggs, so to speak.

Pipe Dream: right now I just want to get my hands on 1) a subtitled edition of Sonic X episode 52 and 2) subtitled editions of the following 26 episides... Can't find them though. The site I downloaded the first 51 episodes (plus an non-subtitled edition of episode 52) seems to have disappeared, and I've no idea where else to look.
Fantasy: I really wanted to see a Sonic anime a few years back and when my wish was granted with Sonic X, disappointment would be an understatement. What I wanted to see was, yes, something based on the Sonic Adventure series, but without spotlight stealing humans like Chris and his family and friends ruining the show for everyone, and with a somewhat decent narrative most of the time (rather than just in one or two episodes and the game adaptations).
What I would especially like to see is Archie lose the rights to producing a Sonic comic and see someone better (like Dreamwave for instance) getting their hands on it, so we can see a really good Sonic comic, and say goodbye to the rubbish that Archie keeps managing to put out...
