Look at it this way.
The marketplace is full of extremly rare and must-have items up for bid and up for a price. If we were virtually there, able to see and react to each other, there would be fights over who got what items. Last man standing would win the item for themselves. ninja

A hellhole. Think about it.
There are online fights going on in Gaia everyday, and if we had access to each other's virtual forms, fights would constantly break out. The consequences would be catastrophic. ninja

Would we be programmed to feel pain though?? Or would there be laws on gaia like there are in real life, like the one that prevents you from annihilating someone with a weapon...??
