In the episode "The Place When We Fist Met" Kagome says to Inuyasha that she'll stay with him....but the episode before it Inuyasha says he'll protect Kikyo and die with her......Well she's dead and he's still in wuv with her.....Kagome loves Inuyasha but doesn't Inuyasha love her back.....

Ok. All I know is Kikyo may be "dead" but her soul is still alive, so in a sense she's still alive. Since she died because of Inuyasha its only right that he dies for her. He still loves her and will protect her. But Kagome knows thaat she can't compete with her, but she still loves Inuyasha. So because she loves him she'll stay with him while he protects Kikyo.
Love triangles are so complicated............

It's obvious that Kagome loves him, it's been said. She said she would stay with him after making a very deep choice. She knows InuYasha has feelings for her at this point, hell they held hands right after what happened.
InuYasha is having a hard time letting go of Kikyo's death. When he was released from his seal, he didn't know Kikyo had died until Kaede told him. As time went on, he began to have feelings for Kagome that only showed in his body language, and sometimes his words while protecting her. The little bickerings Kagome and him have, that are usuaully followed by a 'sit boy!', is just one of them ways we can sort of tell he has feelings for her. You can also see how he get's majorly jealous when Koga is putting the moves on Kagome too.
Vampiric_Mystery pretty much has the right idea. Though Kikyo's soul is really half of Kagome's. Some consider it as her's though because Kagome is her reincarnation.
InuYasha still loves this clay Kikyo because he never really got the chance to fully love her by the time Naraku screwed them over. Almost as if InuYasha is trying to make up for lost time, in a way.
Kagome knows his love that's clinging onto Kikyo isn't really compatible, but she understands this. She isn't going to just let something like this ruin her love for him. And when he excepts this in "The Place When We Fist Met" it's like everything was written in stone.
