I say screw everyone who thinks it's a crappy kid's show. I just got volume 3 of the second season and I've watched it about five times now. ^_^ If anyone can think of a character more badass than Toph I'd like to hear about it.

I hate to say it, but I like Azula. I always fall for the cruel semi (if not fully) psychotic characters *shrug* Oh well xd
I also like Appa and Momo whee
Don't feel bad about watching Avatar, I still watch Spongebob, hell, my dad still watches Spongebob sweatdrop

Azula IS badass, but Toph is just so much cooler because she's blind and still kicks a**. She couldn't have been the avatar though because she wouldn't have given two craps about anyone besides herself.It's a show on Nickelodeon. At least, it was. The new season is taking an awfully long time to come out. crying

first of all i would like to say, thank you for not putting this in the anime forum, i would have moved it anyway. i come across like i am angast the show and i have to say i am really not, it is okay, but i would never never never call it anime, i am more then willing to agrue about it with any one that feels diffenty.

You're totally right. "Anime" is technically a Japanese or Asian term, and since Avatar was created in north america it's simply an animated cartoon.I've seen people make that mistake before as well, probably because of the big eyes and overused anime expressions.
